  I hired this contractor to replace my deck The son came out prior to starting the job, to go over the agreement we settled on last fall. The agreement was to replace the deck similar to what was there, with 2 gates one on the step side and one on the ramp side, redo the steps to add back (so enclosed). Lattice replacement around the deck similar to what was there( which was the plastic lattice). The price agreed on was $8,387, with deducting $500 if I got a dumpster myself. They started to demolish of the existing deck around 4.25.23. Unfortunately, I paid them in full (5.5.23) prior to completion as I was out of town. When I returned home, I found that many of the boards were split due to placing the screws in the sides of the boards, many of the boards have lifted up on the ends. I still have boards that are lifted up, one of the last boards that that was laid, split and they did not replace. The railing looks like a roller coaster that the boards are so warped. They came back once and corrected by splicing the board into to take out the warp. They also put in a small piece of 2x4 under the railing to correct the warp. THe time they came back they removed one of the pieces, and the other one remains. No one has small piece of board holding up the railing. The railing going down the deck is warped as well, both bottom/ top boards. The nails they used to nail the bottom railing you can see the nails in the gap between and the posts. The ramp we agreed on was to use boards instead of plywood, which is correct, however at the end of the ramp the boards are sinking into the ground and grass growing up threw them. The cuts are not precise, and the quality of the wood is cheap. The things I like about the deck is the gates and the enclosed back of the steps. Everything else is poor quality. They are telling me that it is not their responsibility to fix maintenance once completed and they don't do that.I disagree, not maintenance it is poor craftsmanship.

  We redid this deck in may. we returned a month later to make some repairs.
  when we completed the deck we told them they needed to seal the wood as
  soon as possible. When we got there to make repairs the deck was not sealed.
  We are not responsible for the maintenance that comes after a wood deck
  has been completed. If you go to ****** Wood website and *** wood website
  you will find that they don't warranty there wood for what she is reporting.
