    Hired Black Landscape Contracting to plant shrubs and 2 trees and to re-establish our front lawn. The shrub and tree plantings are satisfactory to date. This complaint is regarding lawn re-establishment. Black was to fine grade with screened soil, top dress bare patches, seed with tall fescue and apply starter fertilizer. Black graded and planted lawn June 1, 2023 due to earliest date available from Black. Bare areas and extensive weed invasion were reported to Black, June 28, 2023. Black tried to reseed some areas, but had no solution for weeds. I pulled weeds by hand extensively for several weeks. Recontacted Black July 25, 2023 about crabgrass taking over and still bare/poorly growing areas. We were told not to use any weed killer, so we continued to pull weeds by hand. Contacted Black Sept 5, 2023 and they had no solutions. Asked to see a supervisor, but could not get an appointment until Sept 21, 2023, but that appointment was canceled by Black. Rescheduled for Sept 26, 2023 and that appointment was also canceled by Black. Spoke to *********************** of Black on Sept 26, 2023 and was told there is nothing more they can do, sometimes plantings fail. I requested a partial refund to hire another company to "fix" the lawn. Black said there is nothing more they can do and that the contract footnote says "Black Landscape Contracting does not guarantee a weed-free, complete germination of newly seeded lawns." I did not expect a weed-free lawn, but the weed infestation was so prolific that the grass was not growing and the lawn looked horrible (much worse than before they re-seeded it).
