During a restoration on a 1956 **** ***** ******** I heard about Librandi’s and their chrome shop. After talking to them at the **** swap meet I took them the chrome for this car. I met with **** the owner on a Saturday and he told me the price would be in the $6,000 range for concours quality chrome. After they received the job they quoted me a much higher number but I told them go ahead and do the job. When the job was completed I went in the fall of 2023 to get it. When I got there I seen no work that was concours quality and several trim pieces damaged beyond repair. After talking to an employee he even agreed several pieces were beyond repair. I contacted ***** the shop manager a few days later when he got back from vacation and he told me “ I’m being to picky” and “ we will no longer do business with you” I still to this day have not herd a way to fix this issue as all my pieces would need redone and I do not trust their work after the first job. I am requesting a full refund for this job as it will be sent to another chrome shop. I would also like Librandi’s to pay for the pieces damaged beyond repair.

    Dear *** *******:

On November 19, 2022, *** ***** dropped parts off at Librandi’s at *** *****’s convenience on a Saturday which we are not normally open but came into accommodate him.  I reviewed the parts with him which was around 30 pieces that he requested a show chrome finish.  He asked me for pricing at that time which I told him I do not do the pricing but ***** ******, Manager of Antique & Classic Car Parts, does and I will give you a rough idea but not until ***** reviews and inventories the parts will we have a final price.  ***** notified him a couple of days later that the price would be $7,950.00 and he agreed on the price.  The job got finished on March 28, 2023 and was not picked up for nearly 8 months later on November 27, 2023.  So numerous times he was contacted to pick up his parts and pay his bill.  Numerous times he was told he would be turned over for collection if he did not pick up his parts.  So in October is the Fall ******* car show and flea market and he requested if he could pick the parts up there and pay his invoice.  We agreed to that but he never showed so we returned the parts to our shop.  We finally got a check from the owner of the car, ****** ***** from ****** ******** **********, Inc., and not from him or his company on November 13, 2023.  *** ***** came on November 27, 2023 to pick up parts.  ***** was not there that day so one of our employees brought out all the parts on a table and *** ***** at that time with one of his guys started unwrapping and inspecting all the parts which took about an hour.  He found 8 parts that he had issues with so we agreed we would re-do the 8 parts and send them back to him at no charge for shipping.  Everything else he was fine with and we have him on video inspecting the parts and rewrapping them.  A couple of days later he called in and talked to *****.  *** ***** made the comment to ***** that he was not happy with any of the parts he took back with him and wanted his money back.  ***** said there is no way, you inspected everything you took with you and the only thing we will do is re-do the parts that are still here that we agreed on.  I want to make it clear we will not give him his money back under any conditions.

This is clearly a case of a problem customer who in 40 years of plating parts we could probably count on one hand that we have ever had issues with.  Our reputation is far superior and something we pride ourselves on.  We will always try to please the customer but in this case that will not be able to happen.  We don’t appreciate him getting on social media and talking badly about Librandi’s.  As far as we are concerned he will receive remaining parts in about 5 weeks and will consider this case CLOSED.

I would also like to request that ****** Librandi be taken off your records and it should be in my name **** Librandi, President.
    Thank you,
    **** Librandi
    President
