I had an issue with my Bravos XL not powering on.
I said i thought it was the console/turn on feature.
Bill checked and gave me a bill for 127.20. AND said he could NOT fix it as the console part needed replaced and it wasn't available till 2099 and it was $330+ and I should probably get another washer. I asked for other alternatives.
I explained I cannot afford to wait till 2099 or buy a new washer!! Bill saw my distress & told me to complain to MAYTAG. (I did complain to MAYTAG- they said there could be other parts out there and gave me 15% off a new online oreder....ugh!)

I searched for parts and found it for $236. Then started to search for the how to >>>to replace the part myself as Bill was expensive.

Instead, while searching I found a quick easy fix __which in my opinion Bill should've done!!!
The repair was to clean the conductor with a Q-Tip and alcohol.
I did the QTip repair myself!
When I requested a refund from Bill, he stated that he does not provide temporary solutions that would only last two weeks.
Well Bill that part lasted 4 years since I purchased the machine! That part is now working again!!!
Bill---that is call repair!!! and then after you fix/repair you advise the owner it may be a temporary fix! and may eventually happen again... and wont be covered under your ## warranty
. But it gives the time to the customer get through to a new machine! or in my situation a move to an apartmen with a smaller machine....

In my opinion He is a replacement specialist not a Repairtech.

Bill denied my request for a refund stating he doesn't do temporary fixes...
Bill everything in life is temporary! just tell the customer what it is you fix (or replace)
buy us some time!!!! >>>>>Get the machine up again!! That is what we pay you for!

The tech diagnosed and part needed for a permanent fix is on a factory back order with no promise date of when Whirlpool would get the part.

Cleaning contacts on the user interface is not a fix and Whirlpool does not suggest the tech to clean contacts.  They tell us to replaced the user interface because the problem will come back.

Customer called to complain and tech called her the next day and tried to explain why she needed the part and cleaning would not last.  If the tech cleaned contacts she would have been calling back saying it was not fixed.  The customer hung up on tech before he could explain anything and said she's see him in court.
