    Business Response

    Date: 04/24/2023

During a status update consultation at my office, Mr. ****** agreed that he would pay a final bill of One Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($1,500) for all of my work to negotiate and finalize his non-jail deal with the District Attorney's office and the Westmoreland Co Adult Probation office. See text correspondence below, in which Mr. ****** acknowledged owing a final bill during a November 28th text, when he stated that he needs some more time to get the money together.

I accommodated his request, by continuing the hearing, thereby affording him another month to get the money together to pay the final bill. Aside from the fact that he never did pay the final bill, I was ultimately successful in negotiating a no-jail deal, which the sentencing judge approved. See attached Sentencing Order.

    TEXT CORRESPONDENCE

    November 28, 2022:

L*****: The DA was not opposed to a continuance. So no hearing tomorrow. Judge will schedule a new date, and then I will let you know. Brian L*****, Esquire

******: Ok thanks for the update n I'll let u no as soon as I get ur money together. Thank u again.

    December 1, 2022:

L*****: The sentencing hearing has been continued until Jan 5th, 2023 at 130pm in courtroom #1.

Therefore, pls arrange to come into my office to pay the final bill on this case by December 31st, 2022. Thx you, Brian L*****, Esquire

    ******: ok thank u

    January 5, 2023:

******: I was informed to request for u to remove urself from my case u told me 1500 from the very beginning n now u want another 1500 to finish so I am informing u that I no longer want u as my attorney please withdraw from my case thank you

L*****: William, you and I have discussed and agreed that you would pay a final bill of $1,500 for all of my work to negotiate and finalize your non-jail deal with the DA's office and the Westmoreland Co Adult Probation office.

I texted you on Dec 1st to come into my office and pay by December 31, which you never did.

Tomorrow, I will be at court for your case at 930am in courtroom #1 to either complete your sentencing hearing, if you choose to show up and pay the final bill we agreed for $1,500, or I will tell the Judge I am withdrawing from your case. I hope we can end on a good note, b/c I did my job and got you a very good deal. Sincerely, Brian L*****, Esquire
    -------------------------------------------------------------- End of text correspondence

January 6, 2023 -- see attached Sentencing Order, in which Judge agreed to the no-jail deal negotiated with DA's office.

Based on all the above, I would respectfully request that you dismiss Mr. ******'s Complaint, as it is not consistent with and does not reflect his text correspondence with me and the ultimate successful outcome in the case.

Feel free to contact me with any additional questions or concerns.

    Sincerely,

    Brian L*****, Esquire
