This is in response to the complaint filed by *** ******** First thing I want to correct is the dealership did offer apologies to the customer regarding the incident described in the complaint.
The concerns the dealership had was that the customer never once tried to contact the dealership before, or during the repair, nor did the other Toyota dealership try to contact us to discuss this matter. The customer made the decision to have the repair completed and then proceed to send us the bill without our knowledge, or approval of the repair. Then to blame us without sending us proof either by videos or text.
With the current technology that is in the automotive market today this would have been addressed quickly and efficiently by both parties and all that was needed was simple phone call, or text. It is unfortunate this was the end result, but it would not be the first time that a repair facility tried to take advantage of an out of state customer.

My 2016 Hyundai Accent was broken into. My insurance company had it towed to Presto Toyota in New Castle , Pa on 12/20/2023. i was informed today ( 02/16/,2024) that my car will be started on today or next week. Called several times to check on progress only to be told, we're waiting on parts, the car wasn't there, and there was more damage and further parts had to be ordered. My insurance company had to call and find out what exactly was going on. I have loss wages , paid out of pocket for rentals, and paid people for rides for almost 2 months now. unfortunately parts delays were big issue with this vehicle. More parts were needed once a technician tried to fix the car that progressive insurance wrote the initial estimate on and missed addtional damage which also had a delay on parts. we will be continuing progress on this car as quickly as we can to make sure there are no more delays.Initial Complaint

I went to Preston Auto Monday July 24 2023 at around 9:30am. I was with my mother when we looked for cars. We was approached by a sales rep named Rick & he asked if we needed help and how was we paying today, I told him we're just looking right now & if we find a car we like we will proceed after, he said ok and for us to call him if we needed him. After looking around another sales rep named Jordan approached and helped us make our choice. Once we was in the office to do paperwork I asked if they participate in the Truth in lending act, Jordan didn't know what that was so he got his financial advisor Alex. When Alex came I asked the asked the same question, he said no they did participate. I asked him how come and told him that's illegal, I then pulled up the Act via Google, he then agreed & said yes they do, (he claimed he thought that I was talking about a bank) I said ok let's proceed with this consumer credit transaction. He then ran my credit which I asked that he do once, after running my credit I was pre-approved with their bank Chrysler Capital with 0 credit. Alex told me that the bank was requiring I put 13000 down, I said that was wrong and that I'll talk to them when I get home, I asked for all docs & Alex gave me the Chrysler Capital paperwork only. When I got home I checked my credit and seen that it was ran with 5 other banks, I called all of them & I was pre-approved with all of them also, I called Chrysler Capital & the lady I spoke with told me that the dealership was requiring the down payment. When I spoke back with Alex he agreed, I then told him that under 25 USC 1662 b, under this consumer credit transaction no cash is to be included, meaning I'm not required to put a down payment. He said being as though I have 0 credit and no cosigner that I would have to pay 13000, I said thats false information & that I already extended my credit which made me already approved with 0 down, he disagreed i asked to speak with the manager, Anthony hung upBusiness Response

I will make it real easy. We are in the business of selling cars to everybody. This person came in to buy a vehicle and unfortunately could only get approved for roughly 18000 for a 2018 jeep grand Cherokee. There the bank is requesting the balance of the loan , in order to buy a vehicle , would have to be put down in cash. I do not want to be rude by any means , but I would think this person would realize that if we send the deal to the bank needing roughly double that amount in order for her to purchase the vehicle and they only approve half of it, she would need the rest down to purchase it. I would really love this customer to come in and get the buyers order from my finance dept and she can take it to here own bank and get the money and come get the vehicle . I really don’t care where she gets the money from. Its really not hard to understand if the bank only approves a person , for example 18000 when asking for 36000, that means you have to come up with the balance, you just don’t get the car for 18000 . I fell terrible for yourself and actually myself for having to take time out of our days to actually respond to something like this. Please tell het to get a check from her bank and go buy a car rather than trying to get something for free!!!! Thanks

Agian every car has an interest loan but they don’t charge you everyday 18% so I am getting charged 18% everyday!!!! And the 3rd picture I sent over says where they only offer simple interest rate loans and if I want an auto loan I have to look ?? somewhere else!! The last ones are I texted the owner Bobby P******. And he said he would be in touch with me and never happened!!!! And the one sales guy Rick said he would be in touch with me and that never happened!!! When I asked Bobby to come to and agreement and work something out with me I am willingly to do that!!

Customer purchased a vehicle from us recently and wants to trade it in on another vehicle, but she has negative equity in their current vehicle which is making it difficult for her to get into a new vehicle without putting a a good bit of money down which at her most recent visit she did not have. She is upset that her auto loan is a simple interest loan, but all auto loans are simple interest loans. ******** has my personal cell phone and is welcome to call me anytime at ************ to discuss this matter further.
