Dec. 23,2024. After hitting a pothole on ******* Rd. Which flatted my tire and bent the rim I was able to pull in Sheetz in Hermitage. Pa. My AARP roadside assistance contacted McDaniels Towing which changed my tire to one I had in the back of my 2010 Chevy Silverrodo 1500 truck. Apparently he did not tightened the lug nuts which caused my tire to loosen and ruined the rim and studs. Upon contacting McDaniels they refuse to compensate for their mistake of causing me to replace, rim, studs, nuts, used spare wheel and mounting and balancing which came to a total of 181.77. Our mechanic has pictures if needed. ****** **** ****** ****** **** ******* *** *********** ** **** ************

March 2023 my vehicle was reported stolen with local police. The police statused the vehicle as stolen. McDaniels towing unlawfully towed my vehicle and still is in possession of my stolen vehicle. McDaniels towing keeps demanding I pay storage fees and tow fee , when lawfully a stolen vehicle should not have daily storage fees that the owner of the vehicle should have to pay to retrieve the vehicle back if the vehicle is reported stolen

The New Castle Police department is who called us to tow the vehicle to our impound and regardless is reported stolen we still get paid for towing and storing the vehicle. It’s not our fault that you didn’t have insurance coverage on the vehicle to cover it being stolen and obviously we don’t tow cars for free.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

No vehicle shall be removed under the authority of this Part or the Vehicle Code if, at the time of the intended removal, the owner or the person for the time being in charge of the vehicle is present and expresses a willingness and intention to remove the vehicle immediately. This shall not apply to vehicles in violation of the Noise Ordinance as per Chapter 387 and/or in violation of the Park Use Ordinance as per § 576-817

The police and tow yard are in violation of § 576-817

I was not notified by police department nor the tow yard the day the vehicle was towed. I didn't receive any phone call or any correspondence to retrieve my stolen car nor notified of the vehicles whereabouts. You'd think the tow company would have asked the new castle city police 'have you contacted the owner?" Not just snatch the vehicle away and just leave the owner un informed of the vehicles whereabouts.  Instead the tow yard for its own benefit let storage fees accumulate on the vehicle so the tow company could try an reap the fees for storing a vehicle that they did not notify the owner about
