On July 29th, 2022 my fianc and I moved to the Red Carpet because we would be working for the owner at the ******* ***. We opted for a kitchenette style room in which the weekly dues would be $450/week. The first couple weeks we were not provided with a working fridge, or any stove at all, however still expected to pay the kitchenette price point. Resolution to providing a stove and working fridge was not provided until a few days after contacting our manager from ***** *, who reached out to the owner here (she works for him). My hourly wage was not enough for me to be caught up with rent, so I got another job making more money to start paying back rent and being able to get ahead on payments. My last paycheck was to be given to me September 5th, 2022 as my last day of employment here was August 30th, 2022. I do not know the exact amount of hours that was on that time card, however I know it wouldve been a minimum of 50 hours. On September 8th, 2022 I received a text message from the owners son, ***** who keeps track of payroll, asking when the next rent payment would be made. I explained I was awaiting my paycheck from them and that I still planned on signing it over to put towards rent. This same day, I also made him aware of a leak in our ceiling causing our ceiling to fall down on us and exposing us to mold. To this day, I have yet to receive an answer about where my paycheck is, and anything about the repair of our ceiling. We pay $1800 a month to live here where we are exposed to mold, and the cockroach infestation in the walls that they refuse to treat and is not a problem in just our room, but many rooms here. I have given them days to resolve this civilly, however am being ignored. I will attach photos of my one sided conversation with *****, as well as the progression of the ceiling rotting and falling apart. We are seeking monetary compensation for my owed check, the first couple weeks of not having what was promised, and the repair of the ceiling.
