the customer will not allow me to finish the job,

i was hired to move a home up a cliff and on to a property about 7 miles from the original site.

i was hired to move a ready to haul mobile home, when i looked at the job i explained to the customers employee or whoever the people were i met there that the home was buried in the mud, and it needed tires, alot of them were flat. i was told that they would have the home completely ready to move. i would back up, hook up to it, and haul it down the road. when i called the customers, i told them i had 2 days before 30 homes came off line from the factory, that i needed to get this done in this small window before these homes showed up. they claimed again, will be ready to go, just come on down.

when i arrived the home was still sunk up the axles in the mud. i explained to them this was not a part of the deal, they asked if i could please get it out of the mud and haul it, i spent most of that day jacking the home up in the mud, only to discover several of the axles were damaged beyond repair, i had to get inventory of everything i needed, the 3 axles that were usuable all needed new bearings, 3 hubs, and all ten tires were not usuable, i took one of their axles with me when i left on the first day, i rebuilt that axle on my shop bench because these axles are rare, they arent typically used in new homes, they are a 95 1/2 inch axle, and most factories use a 99 1/2 inch axle to date. i rebuilt the one axle and by luck i had 2 rebuilt 95 1/2 inch axles at my garage, i brought the parts and the new axles with me on day 2 and re installed the new axles, we then spent the rest of that day tucking up insulation tightening hitch bolts and disconecting what i can only describe as chains with weights from the home. we then came back on day 3, hooked up to the bulldozer and pulled it up and out of the hole and the neighbors said go ahead and park it over here out of the way, because it was too late to take it down the road at that point, as i explained to the customers before i started, i now had 30 homes (maybe more) coming offline and i would return when i had an opening. 2 months passed and i was still being bombarded with new homes coming in... and they grew tired of waiting for me, so they said they want half their money back and i explained to them all the costs i had in rebuilding the chassis under their home, i said go get a truck stop mechanic to perform the repairs we did, it would be in assess of 10 thousand dollars, those axles are not cheap and neither is the labor. i though i was being kind by saying if you cannot wait for me, i will gladly give you one thousand dollars in return.

they said no, we are taking you to court if you don't give us 4 thousand dollars. i told them if they wouldnt have fired me i would have moved it by now. to my understanding the home is still sitting there. unfortunetly, i must charge them for writing this letters prorated at 150 dollars an hour for any and all further correspondence on the matter, which lowers the thousand dollar offer.

if they wish for me to finish the job, they will have to pay me for 4 thousand dollars in additional costs (this is break even for what i did). this is another additional cost, having to respond to this letter. my time will be assessed at 150 dollars an hour for any and all further communication.
