At the end of last year, I adopted two kittens from Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley. I paid $300 (in total) and signed a contract, at the time, agreeing to have both of them spayed and neutered around 20 weeks. I was told they would contact me to set up a date for the surgery, which would be paid for by the organization. About a month ago, I received a call/voicemail from the organization asking if a specific date would work for the surgery. I called them back to verify the date, but wasn’t able to reach a person and left a message. I’m not sure if that voicemail was ever received. I have been trying for the past four weeks to reach Animal Protectors Of Allegheny Valley to ask for verification of the survey date/address of the vet I’ll be taking them to & pre-op instructions. I have called at least 15 times during their open business hours, and have the left at least seven voicemails, and I’ve still not received a call back or any kind of correspondence. The two kittens I adopted are male and female, and I’m worried that they will start mating if they’re not neutered and spayed, soon. I find this conduct to be completely unprofessional, and not in line with the principles/ethics that Animal Protectors Of Allegheny Valley claim to represent.

This matter has been handled. We only get a limited number of appointments for spays. 20 weeks of age is when we can start to schedule however adopters are told that it could take time before we can get them in for the appointment. As we get many animals in throughout the year that are required to be spayed/neutered. We have been in contact with adopter, and at times did have a hard time reaching one another. However, the first cat was fixed and the 2nd is scheduled.
