    May 13, 2022, the owner Dennis E*** visited my home to review scope of masonry repair work to produce an estimate.
    July 18 2022, Dennis visited prior to the job start, saying he would start the job that week. He asked for half the total job ($6200) in advance as a deposit ($3100).
    After some delays, he came with a small crew and spent half a day working. They used a grinder to cut out the mortar and removed brick above all the windows for lintel replacement and some other areas that needed repointed. They were not neat and damaged much of the surrounding brick. He also removed brick and mortar under the brick and concrete stairway leading up 1 story to my porch. I wasn't home when he was there, my neighbor and cameras saw him. I didn't discuss my concerns with the quality of the work, I expected him to come back and fix things as the lintels and pointing was completed. But he never returned after that 1 partial day. Dennis gave numerous excuses which I later discovered were lies. He never refunded my money. Due to the long time that elapsed after the demo, there was structural damage to my stairs and brick from the mortar and bricks he removed that needed to be repaired and completed by another contractor 5 months later.
