the transaction was over a period of time. the first time i reached out to clinton with dirt movers was in september of 2023 and the last tim i have been trying to get in touch with him for several days following this date. clinton committed to put in a pad to build a mudroom and a garage on, right after the pad was laid. he told me specifically there would not need to be any time to let it sit, as you could build on it right away. clinton first gave me a quote for the project and then shortly after he started this work, the price increased. clinton started the job by removing brush and a couple of trees and he started while i was not there. clinton brought fill dirt to build up the pad to make it level that way my building could go on it. i spoke to him on the phone about how the job has not been finished and i am not happy with it. he agreed to come back and fix what he messed up. i told him the dirt he brought was clay and not good and he said it’s the best you can get which was a lie. he came back and added more dirt on his own time when i was not there and did not explain what was being done before he started. they will not insure the home bc the septic tank is completely out in the open and not buried and could cause a huge problem. the dirt on the side of the house where the current retainer wall is that clinton installed is incorrectly placed. the wall was not placed on rocks or properly installed and they are not interlocking which could also cause them to fall. prior to clinton starting this and that there was a building going on it right away and because he has not completely the project correctly and the dirt is cracking, crumbling, and sinking, i now have to pay someone to come in and completely take everything out and start over. clinton has not gotten back to me or tried to resolve this issue. he specially told me he was not coming back unless my neighbor took care of his trash along the property line which has nothing to do with the issue at hand.

please see below for the full write up of this concern i have submitted, as it did not allow me to type everything i wanted to.

the transaction was over a period of time. the first time i reached out to clinton with dirt movers was in september of 2023 and the last time i spoke with clinton was wednesday october 25th. i have been trying to get in touch with him for several days following this date.

i paid dirt movers 5200.00 in full with a personal check.

clinton committed to provide excellence service and a pad to build a mudroom and a garage on, right after the pad was laid. he told me specifically there would not need to be any time to let it sit, as you could build on it right away. clinton first gave me a quote for the project and then shortly after he started this work, the price increased. clinton started the job by removing brush and a couple of trees and he started while i was not there. clinton brought fill dirt to build up the pad to make it level that way my building could go on it. i asked him if it would wash away with the upcoming rain or if i needed to put gravel or hay on it and he told me no. the area eroded tremendously and started breaking and sloping and crumbling and was completely unsafe and unable to be built on. i asked him several times about finishing the job and i even suggested a retainer wall and he told me various reasons why we should not do a retainer wall and just do dirt. i spoke to him on the phone about how the job has not been finished and i am not happy with it. he agreed to come back and fix what he messed up. i told him the dirt he brought was clay and not good and he said it’s the best you can get which was a lie. he came back and added more dirt on his own time when i was not there and did not explain what was being done before he started. the septic tank needed to be raised 24” so we bought the supplies and he raised it and left it completely open and did not put dirt over it. they will not insure the home bc the septic tank is completely out in the open and not buried and could cause a huge problem. the dirt on the side of the house where the current retainer wall is that clinton installed is incorrectly placed. the overhang is supposed to be 2” and it is between 6”-7” and it is not level which could cause the wall to fall down and hurt someone. the wall was not placed on rocks or properly installed and they are not interlocking which could also cause them to fall. the dirt comes over the wall which could cause the dirt to fall on someone or the wall itself to fall on someone bc they are just placed there with no supports and they are also not level and one is already leaning. the dirt is lose and the trusses cannot be placed in the ground bc the building will fall. prior to clinton starting this project he knew what the end goal was and that there was a building going on it right away and because he has not completely the project correctly and the dirt is cracking, crumbling, and sinking, i now have to pay someone to come in and completely take everything out and start over.

clinton has not gotten back to me or tried to resolve this issue. he specially told me he was not coming back unless my neighbor took care of his trash along the property line which has nothing to do with the issue at hand.

please see below for what has to be done to correct this issue in order for the building to go on the pad without falling down:

Blocks to finish wall squared up with deck post, with 2-3 blocks cut to fit.
Dig out behind block wall, disassemble wall to install compacted stone footer.
Reassemble wall and pinning of blocks with rebar, with backfilling with 2B stone with drain pipe.
Dig out filled area there posts are going, to compact and refill, compacting in 6-12” lifts with excavator tamper.
Top coat driveway pad and construction area with remaining stone. scrape clay off of driveway and give room for stone.

Machines and labor for the job is $3750
    Material cost with trucking $2848
(Block, stone, rebar, bit for drilling, and other little stuff that goes into jobs like these).

    $6,598

****** contacted me asking me for a few loads of fill dirt to build out a pad for the  pole barn/garage. I stopped and took a look. There was thick brush to the one side and the neighbors property; her house to the other side, and a 9' drop off to the back. I informed her that in my professional opinion that it was not a good idea to try to build a pole building in that small space but rather a foundation and a wall around it due to the elevation difference on two of the sides. She refused that idea and insisted on the dirt and I informed her that we would need to remove the brush and bank out the dirt to obtain proper slope to support the pole building. I also informed her she would need a small retaining wall  as there was a doorway coming out of the basement below. This was agreed to and I was told which day the builder would install the deck out back. The retaining blocks needed set first so I planned to be there the day ahead, when I got there the builder must have had a change of plans and the deck was already up and we had to do our best to install 3600lb retainer blocks in under deck. When we removed the brush on the property line, there  was a wall under the brush and a drop off to the neighbor property that we could not see till the brush was removed. This resulted in the need for much more fill dirt than was originally calculated for. The neighbor graciously allowed us to push dirt out onto his property, otherwise this project would not have been possible with out a wall. The neighbor was the first to inform me that the septic tank may be in this area. Later someone from ******'s company dug around found it and exposed the lid. After I cleared the brush, I immediately informed ****** of what it would cost for the additional fill. She said the extra was too much, so I just did what we originally agreed to. I gave them a price to do do a retaining wall on the two sides. She later called me and asked to do additional fill. I gave the per load price- it was good clay fill. Gravel was never in the discussion and would have been extremely expensive. I came back in and built it out as much as we could onto the neighbor and in the back. I set the septic riser she supplied. The entire septic tank was never exposed the riser could have had more dirt put around,  that was the one thing i could have done differently, but that was not really my deal. Alyssa saw everything that was done, as she was there a majority of the time. When we were done she paid me. We had hauled a total of 14 triaxle loads of fill dirt in.  Nearly 2 weeks later she tried to harrass me a couple times and threaten to sue me and trash me for a refund because her father didn't like what I had done. I told her there would be no negogiating. There was not a good  plan in place and i was supposed to drop and run to her project when she wanted something, I have other customers to service also. It takes time and money to keep moving machines in and out and I had advised against her plan from the start.
