Complain Against: BRC Painting (Owner: ******* ******)We hired BRC Painting to paint our home ceilings and repair an old area of water damage. Prior to the work, a written signed estimate outlining the project was given, which explicitly stated:All cracks and nail holes would be caulked and filled where necessary Rough areas would be sanded to remove flaking paint Spackle repairs would be made as needed All ceilings would receive one coat of flat white ceiling paint The work was performed on August 5, 2024. After completion, I immediately raised concerns about several areas, but the workers assured me the ceiling would look better once it had fully dried. Trusting their word, I paid the full amount that same day. However, once the ceilings dried, it became clear the work quality was substandard. The water-damaged areaspecifically identified as our top prioritywas left completely unaddressed. Flaking paint was still visible in multiple places, cracks and nail holes were not filled, and an entire section of ceiling was missed altogether. These issues are in clear violation of the contract terms.I documented the problems with photographs and reached out to Mr. ****** multiple times via phone and email. He repeatedly promised to come inspect the work and make the necessary corrections. Despite those assurances, he never returned, and the job was never ************ has now been 9 months since the service was performed, and the project remains incomplete and unsatisfactory. I feel misled and regret paying in full before confirming that the job had been properly finished. I have multiple emails in which Mr. ****** committed to correcting the work, as well as shared photos that clearly show the deficiencies. Despite these communications, no action was ever taken.Desired Resolution:I would like BRC Painting Services to either (1) refund a fair portion of the payment, or (2) return to complete the work as originally agreed upon in the signed contract.

     Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:
We still never received the trim paint and have not heard anything from BRC painting. BRC painting says that I acknowledged completion of project with the payment, but was not allowed time to review whole house. On the last day ******* wanted payment even when I asked if he could pick up the check the following day to make sure the bank would clear the check and review everything done. For what we paid we shouldn't have to worry about the quality of work that was promised. BRC painting assured us that we would be happy and all imperfections would be fix by end of project, but multiple imperfections were noticed the day after he left once everything was settled. ******* was contacted immediately about imperfections. ******* also mentioned multiple times that you need to look at the walls at different times of day because things can be missed. BRC also did break the contract when they used the wrong paint and did not sand or caulk door frames and triming. The paint used on our ceiling was not *************************** as specified in the contract. BRC painting would be upset as well if the quality they were promised is not what they received. BRC mentions there is no warranty but if the job was done correctly or even at all, there would be no need for a warranty. BRC painting failed to mention about paint on our carpet/furniture. Some of the paint we were able to remove from the bathroom floors(which we shouldn't of had to in the first place), but the paint on the carpet and our TV stand will not come out. There is more than enough pictures to show that BRC painting showed poor workmanship and quality.

    Regards,

** very often about imperfections noticed with walls, he attempted to fix most, but seemed like he rushed to complete job. We were orginally quoted 10 days for project, it was completed in 6.5 days. After final payment, we went though each room and noticed multiple imperfections and notified *******. He said he would fix baseboard in one bedroom but told us he would charge to repair wall. The walls in our half bath were he spackled & repainted had tiny holes reappear. When ******* left, the areas spackled looked okay until the paint settled overnight and the holes reappeared. We have pictures of the imperfections. Some of the spots on the walls were white was showing through, we did paint over. For how much we were charged, the quality is not good. According to our contract, we were told the baseboards would be sanded & caulked and painted, they were not. We do not want full refund as we understand BRC did paint walls, but a partial refund for quality of work and to hire new contractor to fix

    Business Response

    Date: 11/30/2022

    Hi *******,

I’m emailing you in regards to the letter I received in the mail. BRC painting produced, and reviewed with the customer all specifications of the project and the scope of work to which the customer signed a copy of a contract and submitted a deposit agreeing in writing to also submit final payment at the completion of the project. All dates of starting and finishing work are listed in the project proposal as estimates only. BRC painting completed the scope of work signed and agreed upon and received a final payment from the customer acknowledging the completion of the project. BRC Painting did not and does not offer any kind of warranty. We offered to come back and paint the top of the door trim at no additional cost but notified the customer that all other requests would be subject to additional cost for materials and labor. Customer did not ask us to return at that time and only asked if we could drop off trim paint.
