I purchased the warranty from *** when I originally purchased my truck warranty cost me over ***** dollars my turbo charger went out so I found a shop that will actually do work with a warranty company locally but was warned from the start when I called automotive repair shop on how the warranty companies handle business but said i didnt have much choice I needed repairs so I continued on the repair shop diagnosed vehicle and it was the turbo charger that was bad on left side of engine so they contacted warranty company to get approval on repair they approved the replacement of turbo charger but mechanic drained 4 qts of motor oil out of turbo tubes and air charger the engine only holds 6 qts of oil and the warranty company refused to pay for the cleaning of the air tubes where motor oil contaminated the air system of engine the shop quoted 2 hrs to do such task which is very reasonable considering its a extensive time consuming process and had they not done so the engine would be at very high risk of hydro locking or even worse complete engine failure I spoke with pwi many times on this matter and they insisted that it was just like a normal wipe down and 2 hrs labor was outrageous to do said task and so I proceeded to explain the severity of the oil in system and also had the service garage explain the importance of having the system cleaned and why they have to do it but pwi did not care and insisted they wouldnt pay for normal clean up

Thank you for reaching out. We understand your frustration regarding the recent repair and the shops recommendation to clean the oil from the air intake system following the turbocharger failure. After reviewing the situation and the terms of your ************* contract, we must clarify that while the replacement of the failed turbocharger was approved, the additional cleaning of the intake system is not a covered component or labor expense.

Although the shop quoted a reasonable timeframe for the service, the contract does not cover cleanup of oil residue unless directly related to the failure of a covered component. In this case, since the vehicle remained operable and the cleaning was considered a precautionary measure rather than a repair of a damaged or failed part, it does not meet the criteria for coverage.

If you have any further questions about your contract or if a future repair need arises that is covered under the plan, please feel free to reach back out to us. Were happy to help clarify any concerns and assist with eligible repairs.

If I could leave a 0 star I would. Do not choose them as your warranty option. We have had two repairs that they have denied. Even though it was in our contract and marketing pamphlet. Also cause a huge delay by not calling us and the shop back. Almost as if they want you to give up because you cannot wait a month for your car.

Were very sorry to hear about your recent experience and appreciate you bringing this to our attention. At PWI, we strive to provide timely and transparent service, and we regret that your experience did not meet those expectations.

We take concerns like yours seriously and would like the opportunity to review your claims further. If you believe a covered repair was incorrectly denied, we welcome the chance to re-examine the details. Please contact us directly at ************ with your contract number so we can investigate and provide clarity on the decisions made.

Delays in communication are never our intention, and we understand how frustrating it can be to wait for vehicle repairs. We are continually working to improve our processes and communication with customers and repair facilities.

Thank you again for your feedback. We are committed to resolving this matter and hope to restore your confidence in our service.

We had our van sit at a shop for over a month. Then had to have it towed off property because *** kept denying the needed engine replacement. It's in our contract and yet they do everything they can to make you give up. We are now a two-full time working household down to one car since May 5. We can either give up or fight *** in arbitration. What is the point in advertising your warranty services and giving out pamphlets at shops, just to deny the services you advertised as "covered"?!

Not worth any price. 0 stars, do not use. In fact, it will cost you more to use them.I had to bring my vehicle in for a new transmission. The Shop says it will take 2-3 days after the part comes in, probably totalling a week. I mention the Preferred Warranties name and suddenly it's a 2 week job. 2 weeks is just too long for a car I'm relying on, so I need a rental car. The rental cost me about $350/week. With all the foot dragging from Preferred Warranties, it took 5 weeks to get the job done. And they didn't even cover it all. They tried to replace my transmission of ******* miles with a transmission of ******* miles and used that as an excuse to only cover $2400 on a $3000 transmission, not to mention their labor coverage capped at $100/hr. Ultimately, the math:I paid $3,000 for the warranty $1,750 for the rental $600 remaining for the transmission 5 weeks of inconvenience (or if I couldn't afford the rental, I would've been hosed)I could've paid $3,200 for the transmission 2-3 days of inconvenience

If I could give 0 stars I would. This "warranty company" is a scam. Our truck has been in the shop for 8 weeks with engine issues. It has been towed to 2 different mechanics who have agreed on what the problem is but this company won't correct the actual issue. Instead they want us to put a bandaid on the problem and have the mechanic guarantee the work which neither shop will do because it's not going to fix the issue. If we go with their fix and drive the vehicle and it breaks, the warranty is null and void. Sounds like a scam to me.

Hi Karen, we truly apologize for any inconvenience you have experienced. There seems to be some miscommunication between PWI and the repair facility. We have a claims supervisor assigned to your claim. They will be reaching out to you shortly to help move the claim along and see what PWI is able to assist with.

Update: They finally agreed to replace the engine and claimed they found one with equal or less mileage. Nope. The engine is a year older than our truck and had 70,000 more miles than what our current engine has. Thankfully our mechanic is looking out for us and gave us the heads up.

I would not give this company a 1 star review! My car was towed January 18, 2024 I still have no car. I went to their recommended choice for transmission replacement or to be fixed. Finally they sent an adjuster to check my car on Feb 9, 2024 at which time they discussed with the transmission repair company, either they can fix it costing over $2000.00 or the warranty company will provide one at just under $500.00 keep in mind my deductible is $100.00. Then they pay for a car rental $31.00/day oh yeah…. For 3 days, it took them 1month to even check it. So now I have spent close to $1000.00 so far and I just sat on hold with them for 16 min and 45 sec and they still have not sent the transmission! So the saga continues I am out all this money and still no car. I must add they did give me a bonus of 6 days….almost an insult! Run from this warranty company you can’t afford their warranty your better off to save your money they are just in it for a buck…..Yours!

Hi Judy, We apologize for the delay. Please know that PWI did not get notified that your vehicle was in the shop until January 30th, 11 days after your vehicle was towed in. PWI uses a third-party towing company, so we were unaware of your vehicle being in the shop. For your inconvenience, we will additionally waive your deductible. Please know that we try and move our claims along as quick as possible. The ETA for your transmission is 2/20. Please reach out with any questions.

Anyone noticed most of the 5 star reviews are from dealerships that get money from selling this crappy Warranty? This is a horrible warranty company. They take your money and do not pay for anything. When you call for them to tell you exactly what your plan covers they beat around the bush and don't tell you exactly what is covered. So then you take your used vehicle to the shop because it has problems and after 3 weeks of them wanting this and that to be looked at 1st. Costing us $300, they aren't going to fix the issue. Even though the paperwork (we asked them to send from the claim) clearly states there is something wrong with the engine. They gave us a bogus answer and don't understand how the engine works. They say carbon build up is making 2 of the cylinders misfire....unused fuel from the cylinders not working properly would cause the build up because the fuel isn't being burnt off. In turn still making it an engine problem! But they don't want to pay for it to get fixed, even though it is included. The dealership we bought it from looked through the contract.
Do not get PWI for a warranty on a used car. Do not waste your money!

This company needs to be investigated really bad. They are selling $3,000 extended warranties for vehicles but they are covering $0.00 this is a fraudulent company. They sent me a list on what they cover and when I go to get repair on what is on the list, they deny it. Over $6,000 I put into my 2016 Subaru Forester limited they put out $0.00 I called and their excuse is I bring it to a Subaru dealership. Dealership repairs is not covered by this company. Federal, State, help me go after them. I got robbed $3,000 from them.

I would give this Company less if I could. This so called “ extended warranty auto insurance” is a scam.
I was offered this option when I purchased my car to extend my warranty or so I was told. This turned out to be a lie as I found out after I purchased the extended but could not use it. I was told at the time of purchase that I could pay during the time in which I pay my car payments and the extended warranty price would be added to my car payment. Imagine my surprise when I took my car to the Volkswagon dealer for a chech engine light issue only to be told my warranty expired in Mar, 2922. I thought it was a mistake as I am still making car payments therefore still paying premiums for the “ extended warranty “ as told at the time of purchase. Bridgett said that yes I am still paying my premium but the insurance has expired. I dndt know that in the U S you can pay for an expired warranty. Buyers BEWARE, this company is a SCAM. Please dnt purchase an extended warranty or any insurance from this company. It’s an absolute rip off. You have been warned!!!!

Hi Diann, I am sorry that you were led to believe that the service contract was longer that you thought. The Service Contract that you purchased starts at the in-service date of the vehicle. I do want to assure you that PWI is not a scam. We have been in business for over 30 years and pay claims every day. Thank you for taking the time to review PWI.

This has been the best experience changing over to PWI. The rep in Alabama that handles my store here in AL and in LA has been a step up from my previous Service Contract Company of 4 years. The bi-lingual rep Miriam has been a champion of their products, and ALWAYS answers her phone to help me communicate and close deals.
