    Gave Epic a $15,000 deposit for a house quote. Deposit was required to provide anything close to a quote, and we were told if we wanted to back out it would cost $2500 tops. Said he could do our project in our budget. Quote was way over budget so we pulled out and Epic instead charge us over $5000+ for services. Rick at Epic, after much discussion, finally agreed in July 2022 to refund a total of $12500 from our deposit to match what he initially said. Since then, he has not sent remaining money and we have only received $9000+ back and he has stopped replying to communication. I have texts stating he will send it and now he's just ignoring us.

    Customer engaged in a design build agreement with Epic.   Epic proceeded per contract and after (3) three or so design meetings completed and delivered a full set of permit construction documents.  These documents can be submitted to local jurisdictions for building permits to complete construction of their home.    Per contract and for our services rendered the client was only charged for fees associated. Customer received copies of documents in both forms including hard copy and electronic PDF formats.

    I am rejecting this response because:

    I have text messages from owner agreeing to refund additional money based on our concerns. Epic is ignoring their commitment to send additional refund and are making no mention of that commitment. We have electronic communication of them confirming this will be sent and our next step is to take them to small claims court.
