    We signed a contract with ******************************* on June 3, ******************************************************* our new home by August 12, 2023. Closed and receive possession of the house on June 30, 2023 as expected and he started the work that same day. The work started with the demolition of the bathroom and shower that he was completely renovating. The progress was slow and there was damage done to unrelated parts of the property that he promised he would fix. The work progress was slow. We provided him with all payments and additional payments in advance because he was telling us that he was short on cash. He asked for $12,000.00 US advance as we were going abroad for 2 weeks and the job is supposed to be done by the time we come back .We agreed on about 9000 dollars given that the progress was very slow. When we came back from vacation, the house was in worse shape than it was when we left with no work done at all. He was not responding to any phone calls. Once he responded he had multiple excuses for not finishing the work and promised that he will. Items were stolen from our property. Workers were angry and threatening to us thinking we were not paying while he had all the money and he was giving them misinformation. We were able to clarify things with the workers and pressured ******************************** to pay them to stop the threats. He promised to deliver the supplies but never did. We now are at 2 months past when the work should have been done, overpaid about $10,000.00USD more than the contract calls for and short on all supplies that were supposed to be delivered and installed around $15,000.00 USD. Not one single room or part of the project was done. We are incurring upward $50,000 USD extra to fix his work deficiencies and get things done, work still ongoing. This is in addition to the fact that he never made an effort to install the water heater as promised in the contract although I started the reach out to the companies and **** for the gas line.
