    We hired Ramey Contracting LLC to do a renovation on one of our properties. We always made sure he was paid upfront for work (even when it wasn’t completed yet, which is illegal in the commonwealth of Pennsylvania) and anytime he asked for additional money we paid it. We purchased all materials so he didn’t have to front the cost. 3 months into the project progression slowed tremendously. There were three weeks that we paid him that he never showed up. And when asked why, he said he didn’t have money to come to the job site. We would pay him more money and he still wouldn’t show up. We also had materials that he took from the job site and stored at his house because he said “people were breaking into the house and stealing stuff”, also materials that we have invoices from him that we paid him to get in which he never got or never delivered to the house. There is close to $5000 of materials that was never returned to use after we finally fired this guy and additional money for work that was paid for and work was never completed.
