    Date- 07/21/2023 Amount paid $6,949.37 invoice#***** For a refurbish engine. The auto shop did not do a full diagnostic to see if any other issues to the car which was asked to do. Gave a defective engine and had to replace with a new one. Then said the Catalytic converter was clogged and an oxygen sensor was needed for an additional $1,325.00. Did not explain this when the first repair was made. Did not offer any resolution for their mistake.

    Dear Sir or Madam, 

    ******'s ******* came in to our shop initially for head gasket issue, the resolution for that is to replace the engine, along with the turbo.  When there's a head gasket leak, excessive coolant passes thru the exhaust system, causes extremely large amount of white smoke discharged from the tailpipe, which could be confirmed with Harcum.  While the engine is demonstrating head gasket issue, it would be almost impossible, or extremely unpractical to diagnose other components related to the engine/exhaust.  We did not notice the exhaust issue till engine is up & running.  To resolve the exhaust issue, we need to replace the manifold catalytic converter along with the corresponding oxygen sensors.  Total parts & labor is $1968, please see the attachment, also as a courtesy adjustment, we offered ****** the amount of $1350 flat rate to complete the job.  She asked us to take additional percentage off the offered amount which we could not possibly do without losing money.

    I am rejecting this response because:

    The auto shop is not stating all the facts like the engine had to be replace due to the first engine was defective. What he is stating is not true that they could not due a full diagnostic on the car before detailing all that needs to be done. he is not telling the truth about that part. Most reputable auto shops do full diagnostics before performing any work to let the customer know what work is needed. I do not accept this explanation because he is not telling the whole truth.rsolution.
