I was very upset to find out that neat quit supporting neat receipts software. I've been using it for more than 10 years, then my computer crashed. I tried to install the disc on my new computer windows 11 but it will not get past the .net framework installation no matter what I do to manually enable it. Software says installed successfully computer says enabled, but when continuing to install software it says. .net framework must be installed and will now exit. I wanted to install from a download but it's not available. Especially since most computers dont have cd drives anymore, I had to buy and external cd rom. Only now to find out it wont work. This is all I use neat for and I refuse to subscribe to an expensive cloud subscription. At one time if you purchased software it was supported indefinitely. Tina, sorry to hear about your situation. The software version you are referring to was discontinued in 2015. We have made this known numerous times to our customers and have heavily communicated this on our website. We've also communicated that customers on Legacy Neat versions would start experiencing issues with trying to install these versions due to changes Microsoft made in October 2019, when they removed the Visual C++ 2005 and 2008 Redistributable Packages from their website and made them no longer available for download ******************************************************************************* While Neat has transitioned into focusing on our cloud application and tools for document management for small businesses, you can continue to use your Neat scanner for FREE using the Neat Scan Utility. I was aware of you stopping updates and needing subscriptions but I thought I would still be able to download the software if needed. I only bought it for receipts organization software. I've used it for years, and now I can't use it for that. You should provide a receipts software equivalent for the scan utility like you had before. Something to organize receipts. I hope I don't get audited for the past 7 years since I can't access any of my receipts now. I have copies of the files from hard drive that crashed but this new software doesn't import and read them. At least I haven't figured it out. To me it's now a boat anchor since I can't use it for receipt organization. Is there any equivalents for receipt organization?The Neat Company, Inc

Hey Tina, The Neat Scan Utility only allows you to scan items to your computer hard drive (free) or the Neat Cloud (with a subscription). It does not provide any document storage or organization tools available on Neat Cloud. I am not familiar with a free document organization tool or local software that provides what Neat Cloud does. You could try uploading your files to Dropbox or Google Drive. These services offer free to low-cost storage solutions, but the organizational tools for those applications are limited. Neat Cloud is not just a cloud storage solution. Not only does Neat Cloud offer many features that the old Legacy software provided, but it offers so much more now. Including a Neat Mobile App to upload and manage your files on the go, a custom Neat Cloud email address to forward items directly to Neat, expense & spending reporting, transaction streaming and much more. I have been a Neat customer for over 15 years. I have grown with their services every step of the way. But this past year has become a nightmare. I could not run reports because they were showing "transactions a year later still pending". they keep showing checking accounts even though they are disconnected. They blame it on a third party integration that is something Neat uses and is in the "background" I reported all of these issues back on 9/28/22 which I was told via email: Hey Natalie, Thank you for your patience! I have an update for you. Yodlee replied back and let me know they have forwarded the issue over to their engineering team for resolution. Once I hear from the team I will connect with you. Also, I've submitted the request to remove those other 3 Wells Fargo accounts. That usually takes about a week to complete. Be advised, that once they remove those accounts, any transactions associated with those accounts will be deleted as well. Even today, they are still there! I have spent months on this problem and have no resolution to this day. Now they have lost the documents needed for COURT. Scanned in via a mobile app on 10/4/22 COURT DOCUMENTS and they were on my account. Now they appear to be gone and just circles as though I just uploaded them. They are needed for court. This is not something I take lightly. This would mean there is problems with the product that they are selling to the public. Now, I have tried all of their "directions to download ALL my files and receipts so I have a backup and I can not download my files or folders as pdfs or in bulk. In addition, my account states I have "1" connection /integration, which I do not, and never integrated anything to Neat. Overcharged me for an old product for almost a year Can't remove accounts no longer needed "pending transactions" from 2021 (even as of today) Can not get my statement copies Can not edit my business profile Can't export MY FILES Very dissatified and disgusted !The Neat Company, Inc

Natalie, I am very sorry for the experience and issues you've had with Neat this year. We certainly appreciate the fact that you have been a long-time customer. The issues you reported are not things that Neat takes lightly either. In reviewing your account, I see that the director of customer success has personally taken over your case and has replied to all your emails immediately upon receiving them about the issues reported. I understand you have court documents that you scanned in on 10/4/2022, that got stuck processing. Your items are safe and I see our team has pushed those items through the processing queue so they should now show up in your cabinet. The issue you experienced with items stuck processing is a common issue that can sometimes occur when you upload items with a spotty internet connection. It appears you uploaded these items via the mobile app, which is more commonly linked to the 'items stuck processing' issue. This Help Center article shows you step by step how to resolve this in case you experience it again: ******************************************************************* I know that you reported some additional issues with this, and I also see that our director and the Neat technical lead reached out to you this week 4 times about this issue. Please check your email and voicemail for updates on this issue. As for your pending transactions issue, I want to remind you that this is not an issue with Neat, but rather with a 3rd party vendor connection to your financial accounts. Neat is able to deliver reporting and organization tools for your connected financial accounts through a company called Yodlee which specializes in connections like this. Your case was escalated to Yodlee, and that is unfortunately all Neat agents can do to work to resolve issues with transaction streaming. However, I see our director has recently been in contact with you about this issue with updates. Finally, you can easily bulk download your items from the Neat Cloud using our Lightweight Desktop Application. This application will allow you to download all your files in bulk to a local folder. Everyone knows the history of Neat leaving their customers hanging by dropping scanner support. I had an ND-1000 back in the day, and used it until it dropped dead one day (not being well-made). Well I just purchased another one, secondhand but brand new in the box. Downloaded the Mojave driver. Set it all up. Scans came out gray instead of white. I followed all cleaning/calibration/troubleshooting steps multiple times, including manual cleaning of the scanner, uninstalling/reinstalling the drivers, etc ad infinitum. Result? Gray. Was finally able to reach tech support by signing up for a trial subscription. Long story short, what we determined was that the scanner only calibrates properly when used in the online software! Surprise! Scan to pdf on my hard drive? Gray as a dirty window. Scan it to the cloud? Pristine! Mojave driver my a**. Someone should have sued this company out of existence. Too bad, it started out as a company with a great idea badly executed. Apparently the problems with this company are too systemic to fix. Lynn, thanks for sharing your experience with us. Unfortunately, Neat hasn't manufactured or sold scanners in over 5 years and therefore the support we can provide for Neat scanners is limited. When you scan an item and send it to your computer, that's all that is happening; the item is scanned, an image is created, and it is sent to your computer hard drive. But when you scan to Neat, a bunch of other stuff is happening to the scan. It is being run through our OCR services for optical character recognition. This makes it easy to search for and find your scan later. It also runs through our image optimizer which automatically crops the image, rotates it, and cleans it up. In reviewing your case, one problem could be that you are still using an old Mac OS. Mojave is 4 versions behind and created many issues for Neat scanners back in the day, that we had to create an entire Help Center article and driver just for the Mojave OS. But before you go updating your operating system, we recommend taking a look at our Help Center article called 'Using your Neat Scanner without the Neat Software' (link below). This article shows you several different softwares you can use besides Neat to send your scans. All free, no subscriptions required. Perhaps you will have better success and image quality using one of these softwares. *************************************************************************************
