I regularly have problem with the gas station located at 33rd and *********************** in Philadelphia. This station has a manager that is rude and disrespectful and always escalates situations. Tonight (11/3/23), they refused to scan the items and instead manually typed in 1.49 each, causing the total to be more than a dollar over what it should cost. I just bought the same thing yesterday, and it was $5. When I asked them to scan the item instead of typing it he literally refused and said I'm not scanning it. I stood aside and watched them manually typing in items for other customers as well which leads me to assume that they were also being price gauged. There's no reason to refuse to scan an item, it helps keep track of inventory and keeps everything honest. The manager came over and told me that I have a problem everyday. which if it were true I wouldn't even come into the establishment. I do have more issues than I should which is always around pricing and being charged different amounts for the same items. This man has had numerous complaints, as has this location, what is going to be done to stop them from stealing from customers.

Attempted to purchase gas on 7/3. After putting card into gas pump and connecting pump to my car, I was immediately surrounded by a group of 13-16 year old male teenagers that said they were going to "help" me pump gas. They physically tried to take pump out of my hand, pushing me and tried to take my credit card. I repeatedly told them I don't need help and to please leave me alone. It made me very nervous for my safety. I decided that I needed to leave ASAP, so after pumping $14 of gas, I disconnected pump and tried to put it back. Again they physically took the gas pump away from and made it impossible to grab receipt. After leaving the station, my CC was immediately hit with an extra $175 charge. I've tried calling the station to get this corrected but no luck. After looking at ****** reviews for this station, this is a common occurrence. Since there are so many reviews about this happening, the station must be allowing this.

This is Harry G********, owner of SUNOCO gas station site at 1701 N. 33rd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19121.
We got this closed ********* station totally cleaned up and built a beautiful SUNOCO gas station with a people friendly convenience store open 24/7.
Community leaders encouraged us to have hot food in the store as not much around and try to keep the site open 24 hours, which we honored.
We have a beautiful Welcome to ********** ******* sign along **** street which we paid for and are maintaining proudly.

This site is very convenient for the neighborhood and motorists travelling on **** ******.
We get multiple good comments regarding our good customer service, Sunoco quality gas and diesel and convenience store with ************** Fried Chicken.
It is a very well lit side with multiple fueling points keeping customers' convenience and safety in mind.
All pumps are in a very good condition and equipped with EMV card readers to prevent any fraudulent use of stolen or unauthorized Credit Cards.

Yes, during summer time, we and other gas station facilities in the area of ********** ******* as well as surrounding areas have similar occasional problems of
mostly teenagers hanging around inspite of our posted No Loitering and other signs. If our employee notices them asking money from customers, we politely tell them not to and leave the premises.
We do call local Police if anyone still does not leave as Officers encourage calling 911 and avoid any confrontation in those cases.  Police do show up and tell teenagers to leave at that time.

Complainant had possession of her credit card when she stopped at our Self Service site to get gas. Once a customer activates the gas pump, he or she can pump multiple cars
if they so choose, which happens many times with family cars; our employees have no control over that.
Her allegation that she was threatened by some individuals and she had to drive off without hanging the nozzle in the cradle ( which stops the transaction) and getting a receipt from the pump, seems a little unbelievable to say the least.  As you may agree that if she felt that a crime was committed against her by those unknown teenagers, she should have at the least called 911 when back in her car and "safe".  My wife or my girls would definitely call the Police to report any unsafe situation and when a crime against them was committed, a normal reaction !! ************* did not inform the employees either and then later on when she saw charges on her card, she first complained to Sunoco and I remember calling her.
I explained that if against good commonsense and I believe the law, any customer allows a random underage kid to pump gas for a couple bucks, they can be possibly scammed.
As I said, if the nozzle is not hung back in the cradle, the pump is still running.  I told her that she did not even get a receipt at the pump which will be printed only after the pump has stopped.
I told her that it was a very unfortunate situation. I was sorry for her loss, but she cannot hold the site responsible when the whole transaction happened at the Self Service only facility.
**************'s only interest was for us to pay her for her loss which I told her was not fair to ask.

I would even now encourage her to call our local police to help nab the alleged perpetrators.

We are an awesome facility and would like to stay in your goodbooks !!
