    I cancelled my home owner's insurance policy with McCollum Ins. on 1-26-23. However, the insurance agent (***********************) failed to cancel the policy. So, $1689.00 that was paid on Dec. 28, 2022. was never refunded Hence, this left my escrow account short which drove my mortgage payments up

    I am responding to the letter that we received regarding ****************************

     

    • ********* *********** from my team, received email request on 1/26/2023
      • ***** requested cancellation of her home insurance policy
    • ****** *********** responded to ***** on 1/26/2023
      • He responded to *****, letting her know that her replacement policy was more than the policy with our Agency.
      • He requested confirmation from *****. He requested that ***** responds with confirmation that she did want her policy cancelled (even though her replacement policy cost more than her current insurance)
      • Below is email from our mgmt. system to *****
        • That policy cost $5 more than you current Openly policy. Did you at least bundle and save on your Auto? Please confirm you still want to cancel Openly. Thanks!
    • On 2/17/2023 ***** called our Agency about the cancellation request
      • At this time, **** was still awaiting confirmation from *****, on her desire to cancel
      • ***** confirmed that she would like to cancel effective 1/26/2023
      • We sent ***** ****** cancellation request to sign (this is required by Openly Insurance)
      • We received and forwarded the signed cancellation request to Openly on 2/17/2023 (requesting cancellation effective 1/26/2023)
      • Openly processed the cancellation and sent pro-rated refund of $1473.46 on 2/21/2023.
