Im filing a complaint against Northeast Speedometer (**************************************) and Black Star Transport for fraudulent business practices, including misrepresentation, unauthorized towing, excessive storage fees, and providing false information to AAA. I was in an accident and requested a tow through *** to have my car taken to my home. Black Star Transport was dispatched but instead pressured me into allowing them to take the vehicle to Northeast Speedometer, claiming he would take care of everything. and he owns the shop. I told them I only had liability insurance and did not want my car taken anywhere until I cleared it with my insurer, but he insists ******************** then falsely reported to AAA that my vehicle was delivered to my home, which was completely untrue. This deceptive report misled AAA and delayed my ability to locate my car. When I tried retrieving my vehicle, I found the business closed during its posted hours (Monday-Friday, 8 AM-5 PM). Even after multiple attempts, I was denied access. A staff member later claimed those were not their actual hours, but no official signage or notice was provided. Despite this, I was charged $97 per day for storage, even though my vehicle was left outside in an unsecured lot, vulnerable to theft or damage.Communication between dispatchers, tow drivers, and staff was inconsistent. The number given by the driver was later disconnected, making contact nearly impossible. This business engages in deceptive, unethical, and possibly illegal practices.I am requesting a full refund or reduction of the unjustified storage fees, an investigation into the companys fraudulent report to ***, accountability for their false advertising, and a formal response from Northeast Speedometer and Black Star Transport explaining their actions. Their dishonesty and predatory tactics have caused me financial hardship and stress. I urge the BBB to investigate and take action against these fraudulent businesses.
