On vacation in Philly. Bought four shots of well tequila which the bartender told me was $20. When I get home I see a charge of $78 for Woody’s on my card. Of note my card was stolen while at the club and had to cancel it. I had several email back and forth with ******* who eventually told me that the charge of $72 was correct for four shots of well tequila. That is $18 per shot and definitely not what the bartender told me it would cost. Unfortunately, I did not get a receipt. Of note…******* asked if I tipped the bartender fairly. I let her know i tipped with cash more than fair considering I used to be a bartender but what should that have to do with being overcharged? FYI…even on Woody’s own webpage their were several others complaining not only about overcharges but about bartenders putting roofies in peoples drinks.

    Business Response

    Date: 01/22/2023

I am responding to the above mentioned complaint. The customer in question, did purchase four drinks at Woody's. What she fails to say is that they were not well brand drinks, they were top shelf. After she notified *******, we went through the sales information and found out that the customer was leaving a lot of information out. Firstly, even if the bartender was giving her well drinks, they would not be only $5.00 each. I submit that she is either mistaken or just not telling the truth. As far as the tip, ******* had to ask the customer that so she could locate the charge and figure out what the facts were. More facts that the customer is mistaken on are that she tipped with cash. As you see, there was a tip on the credit card. As far as what is on our webpage, we address all the complaints that we have about potential overcharging issues. I must add that it is quite strange that *** ***** or any other customer would think that it makes sense for a bartender to roofie someone's drink. Why would a bartender or any staff member buy a drug and put it into someone's drink. It just doesn't make sense. With all the avenues of social media these days, it seems that lies, become truth just because someone wrote it.
Attached please find a copy of the receipt form the charge that took place.
    Thank You
    William W****
