    Regarding pergola installation OCT 3, 2023 Cost: ******* Complaint is regarding the quality of the work, one board was bowed significantly at time of installation, some ends are uneven, the writing on the wood was not sanded prior to staining, bolt holes are very uneven, jagged and not stained, one beam was not intact as the others two boards were used instead of keeping it consistent. Due to second hand knowledge of the work he is capable and he advertises, I reached out to express my complaints, (once my friend who could detect these flaws inspected the work). He initially blew me off or tried to fast talk me out of it, and when he did come to inspect, he essentially bullied/gaslighted me. He blamed me for choosing pine over cedar and that he had to keep things in budget. But this was the pricepoint he offered me and I met. The quality/standards should be the same, as it's his budget/pricing and I wasn't rebuking it. He then stormed off and out the door, saying he would agree to correct some of these issues. Ever since then, he has dodged or been elusive about a time frame for this work and now has not returned my text. For the record, I try to be mindful of other stressors and try to keep things chill and polite, so I think his response or lack thereof is very unprofessional. I even referred him to a friend (prior to realizing the decreased quality of the work) and she knew i was waiting on him to complete the repairs and held him following up with me. But not only did he not thank me for the referral, he's become utterly non responsive. I had warned him at least two other times, that I would be compelled to take action so he had awareness and time to reach out and let me know when he would do these repairs.
