We booked this venue for a birthday party for My grandmother . there was a deposit put down in the amount of $1500 and my grandmother wanted to speak to the owner *** , who she has been in constant contact with up until now. My grandmother has not been able to get a hold of her and its been over a week. We went up to the venue to check on her and the gates were closed on a Saturday. There was another young lady that was there who had a event booked there and was not able to get in or get in contact with ***. There are several people with the same issue and now we are working on trying to get in contact with the owner so we can get our money back.

I advised the host that I was having a cannibus event with 30 Vendors for 5/3/24 we agreed on the price of $1750 which included security for the event. I paid the 1750 in full 4/16/23. The host contacts me and said she has to cancel my event because we have an artist and she wanted to charge more than what we agreed upon so I simply asked for my money back and I will find a new event space. I was contacted by a friend who stated they booked the Taj Mahal to him the same day 5/3/24 which was supposed to do. This woman is unprofessional and disrespectful. I explained I was frustrated that she breached the agreement and simply wanted my money back. She began to curse and degrade me me calling me out of my name. Very unprofessional! I just want my money back in full. I will never work with this business and will leave a bad review with everyone I know in the city.

    Business Response

    Date: 05/13/2024

On April 16th I did receive a payment of $1,750.00 for a party in the ballroom for May 3rd, 2024. On May 1st, 2024, I was notified by an insurance company that on Eventbrite website someone was advertising an illegal weed (marijuana) party at my location for May 3rd, 2024.  I contacted the customer and he admitted he was advertising the event. I explained to him that there is no smoking in the ballroom and that it was a breach of contract to have an illegal party at the establishment. I tried to work with him by offering him another date for a legal party and he became very angry and demanding a refund. I advised him of the no refund policy that is on my contract and website. The next day I started receiving threatening text messages and calls from the customer and several other unknown people and still receiving them to this day. Him and hes friends also posted reviews on my page stating I stole hes money and not to do business with me.
Again, the Taj Mahal have a no refund policy.
