Beginning on 12/06/2022 I used the services of **. **** of the said company to purchase, replace and install a new steam boiler. The installer never properly tested the system after connecting all of the pipes on Sunday 12-11-2022; however, it appeared to be working properly. After several days I noticed that one of the pipes had a slow water drip. When **. **** returned to fix it, he was unsuccessful but assured me that he would return with the proper tools to address the leak. After he was paid a total of $6,350 for his labor, **. **** no longer seemed interested either in addressing the water leak or another problem which was that the automatic water feeder on the new boiler was not functioning. In my final conversation with ********** in which he abruptly hung up on me - he let it be known that he would not return unless I paid him more money - this in spite of the fact that he emailed me an invoice showing that he had been paid in full for his services. Hence, I am now faced with the prospect of hiring someone new to complete what this installer has refused to do.

First off I would like to start by saying that upon reading the complaint where it states that I wouldn't finish the job the reason for that being that the problem was was on existing piping that was not touched by me during construction all I did was touch the pipe to show the homeowner with my wrench that there's no movement in the piping part at the area that was slowly leaking. Another issue was that I read in the complaint that I failed to inspect the job upon completion that is not true the homeowner had turned the boiler on over the weekend over the course of one day I should say when I was not fully complete with the job when I went to go start it the fuse was broke in the man's house he had to go buy a new one so I did not start it because it could not get started and I was going to start it when I came back to finish the job on Monday I had to come back on Monday and he said that the boiler started right up and I said oh you started the boiler and he said yes he went and found fuses on a Sunday and replace the fuses it started the boiler up so that was done without my knowledge. The homeowner had fired the boiler up upon me fully saying that the job was done that is the point I'm trying to get across here I saw the slow drip when I got there and I had to explain to him that it was on existing piping and then that's when I showed him that there was no movement in that pipe where the leak was. Upon before me starting this job when I was doing my assessment of the boiler his previous boiler had caught on fire and blew the cast iron block so there was no way for me to inspect the boiler before replacing it as far as turning it on and to at least get it run a little bit to see what pipes all around the near boiler piping were in good standing or that needed to be replaced. I showed *************** where I was going to be tying in my new piping and I showed him the area where it was going to happen. The part of the boiler piping system that is leaking is past where I tied into, so like I said before it's on an existing part of the system. Like I wrote earlier there was no way for me to get a test on the piping because of how bad shape the boiler was in. No I know *************** is saying that I should be held responsible but it's not my responsibility because it's not the area that was touched by me during construction and that was explained to him. Since the work that needed to be done was outside of existing work done where my construction was being performed I told him that I had to charge him. I explained to him why I had to charge him and he thought it needed to be done for free and I had to explain it to him that that was not going to happen and then we ended our discussion. Also I did not hang up on him the discussion was over for what we had to talk about and we both hung up the phone he said he was going to get somebody else I said okay no problem have a nice day and then that's where the conversation ended.

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the response. If no reason is received your complaint will be closed as Answered]

     Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

It is a rambling subjective account of what happened. The bottom line is the business owner has refused to take responsibility for the job he was paid to complete and clearly has no intention to be mature and professional about doing so. In closing, I am convinced that he has other dissatisfied customers whom have not bothered to make a formal complaint. Thus, I cannot see how a success can be made from this business.

    Regards,
