    We contracted with Katona to make repairs to the roof and siding on a property my daughters and I own as ******** ********, LLC at ************************************, Philadelphia, PA *********. We agreed to the estimate with the correction to a 30-year roof (from a 10-year roof.) We noted our philosophy of using the best quality materials in order to pay for labor just once. We gave him our check #*** for $2,000, and he began work on the siding first and said he would start the roof afterwards.*** was concerned about the appearance of the slope on the front garden of the property and we verbally agreed that he would terrace the front. We went back and forth about materials and process; we agreed to some of his suggestions but decided not to re-do the cement floor on the front porch. We are not happy that he used fill dirt instead of good soil to fill the garden beds, especially when we had good compost at our residence which we asked him to transport to the rental property. During this time we gave him our check #*** payment of $12,000.A week later, with the verbally agreed upon front garden terracing work done, *** returned and requested another check. I refused and he stopped work, leaving a portion of the siding incomlete and exposed to the elements.*** phoned us many times asking to talk. Our repeated response, both via text and written letter, was that once he provided a written statement delineating the work he has completed and its cost, we would be happy to talk. As yet we have still not received a written statement, and we have not been able to settle the matter.

    *** Katona quoted us a price of ***** to replace our roof. He took out **** deposit and did not return phone calls for 3 months. When he did return and began work, he knocked on the door with in an hour and told us it was much worse than anticipated and it would now cost ******. He told us if we couldnt commit to the new amount he would leave. After a few months our roof leaked again. We called and he came out. He said we needed ***** more work. We had already put so much money out, we decided to get the work done. 2 months later, it leaked again. He came back out and said they missed a spot and apologized. 4 months later it leaked again. We went to his office with an estimate of how much it would cost to fix the destroyed ceiling from the repeated leaks and he wouldnt open the door. We went back a week later and his office had a closed for fishing vacation sign.Our roof is still leaking.
