This transaction occurred on 11.9.19 - 2.15.20. I submitted a total of $1,422.00 to JRP as part of a registration fee for a modelling convention called ****. It was scheduled for July 19 - 24 2020. We signed a form that said 'there are absolutely no refunds' and that if 'unforeseen circumstances develop, all monies paid will be applied to another year's convention.'As you can imagine, an unforeseen circumstance did occur. Covid-19 erupted in Feb 2020 and postponed the **** conference to July 18 - 22 2021. The vaccine was new and still being tested. If the President approved it by May, I was still apprehensive in going, especially with so many people attending, and also because I was told it would be very cold in the building, which I knew could potentially spread Covid more quickly, and also lower my immune system in general. I emailed the Director on 2.8.21 expressing that I decided not to go for these reasons and requested a refund of $1,422 'given our lives and priorities might be changing due to the pandemic and how that will affect us in the future.' I received a response on 3.2.21 with no direct reply to the refund and only that if I change my mind by May, to let her know. 5 months after the conference (which I did not attend), I contracted Covid-19 in December 2021. It took me months to recover, and increased my apprehensions about going to a future **** convention. I have held off on filing this request as I wanted to respect the Agency and assess my health status, Covid, my comfortability in group settings, and my life priorities as time has gone by. My life and priorities have changed substantially. And Covid is still present in our lives. I understand the form I signed says 'no refunds.' However, in such a worldwide catastrophic event, I would greatly appreciate a full refund, such as to be considered a Force Majeure of the usual regulation. I highly respect JRP and send this request in the most high regard for their business.
