Ideal Tile started a backsplash tiling job on my property and has left it unfinished and been non-responsive to communication. I am requesting a refund for the unfinished work. On Jan 31st and Feb 1st, Ideal Tile started work on my project. On Feb 2nd, I had a walkthrough inspection with the company owner, *******************. Remaining work items include correction of wrong grout color, tile cleaning and sealing (tile left with grout residue on all tiles, no perimeter caulk, no sealing), repair to damage on surrounding walls, gaps around outlet plates and along trim interfaces, poor craftsmanship behind refrigerator, return of unused extra purchased tile, contracted work on 2nd floor not yet started shower shelf and broken tile around toilet. I corresponded with office staff ********************** over the weekend of February 4th about my concerns and scheduling. I was told I would be contacted on Mon, Feb. 6th. I did not hear from Ideal on the 6th despite checking in and not getting a response. During the walkthrough inspection on the 2nd, the owner said that a cleaning company would come Mon, Feb 6th for a proper cleaning following the work the previous work. On Monday, no cleaning company came. I stopped by the storefront on Wednesday, February 8th to retrieve my unused extra tile and request an update in person. While there, I spoke to ****** and was assured Ideal would be in touch and that I would at minimum receive an update by Friday, February 10th. I did not hear from Ideal on the 10th and have not heard from them since.Given the lack of follow-through and non-responsiveness from Ideal Tile, I am submitting this complaint and a request a refund for the unfinished labor. On January 19, 2023, I paid a deposit of $1,969.40. Subtracting the tile and shipping costs, this would apportion $1,338.36 of the deposit towards labor fees. Given the labor is left unfinished and incorrect, I formally request reimbursement of half the labor fees for a total of $669.18.
