On June 4, 2024 a refrigerator I purchased from ******** Hardware was delivered to our home. The delivery men used a dolly to move the refrigerator from the truck up 7 hardwood floor steps to the kitchen leaving clear, aligned gashes/gouges on the steps and part of the refrigerator went through the drywall on the stairs. The delivery person acknowledged the damage and took pictures to submit to ******** Hardware and said they would get back to me. He stated that the dolly was in bad repair and that is why it scratched and gouged the steps. When I didn't hear from ********, I called them on June 6 and left a message. *** ******** called on June 7. He told me that he was not aware of the incident but he would investigate and get back to me. He assured me that they would take care of the issue. And for the past year I believed him. It was extremely difficult to contact *** to get information and updates. I can list approx. 30 dates that I called him and left messages, approx. 5 dates that I reached him, as well as the 11 times he returned my call. I tried to call the owner, ****** ******, but I was told that he didn't speak to customers.Over the course of the year, *** sent 3 construction people, and I asked a flooring person, to assess the damage. All 4 said the steps needed to be replaced. Only 1 of the workmen felt qualified to replace the steps and fix the wall. He submitted a bid on April 15 2025. *** called me the next day to say he got the bid and he would get things moving right away. On May 14 I got a call out of the blue from an insurance agent saying ******** was not insured for the damage. My claim had to be handled by the company's car insurance. For a year I trusted *** when he said they would handle the damage.I have attached the bill of sale from Daniels which includes delivery. That is the only page we were given.

We have been working with our insurance company to get this issue resolved. There was confusion as to what part of our policy should cover the repairs.

We have just heard from our agent and they have figured out the problem and will be reaching out to the customer to get the repair work done. We have left a

message for the customer to call us back for the update and will get the work done as soon as can be scheduled.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]

I was very happy to receive a call from Rod at Daniels on June 10.  In that call he informed me that he had spoken with his insurance representative and that everything was straightened out and I should hear from the agent in charge soon.

In fact, I did receive an email from the agent stating that they were still reviewing the complaint and that they would let me know by June 14th what the disposition of the complaint would be.  Since I had to either accept the response from Daniels or reject it on or before the 14th, and since I could not ascertain when during the day on Friday I would hear from the insurance company, and since I couldnt say whether the matter is resolved or not, I am forced into the position of having to refuse Daniels response.

It should be noted that I greatly appreciate the communication from *** even though it didnt align with the email I received.  At least he seems to believe the issue is resolved.  It might be after tomorrow but I have no assurance that this is resolved positively as of this response.

      Regards,

we purchased a Frigidaire Gallery refrigerator, dishwasher, double ovens and electric cooktop along with an Extended Warranty for the refrigerator and double ovens 11/2020. We paid $3500 at that time then on 1/16/2021 we paid the balance $4129.03 which included the Extended Warranty. We did not need the extended warranty until 11/2024 when the ice maker makes ice but then it melts out the ice/water dispenser. I contacted Daniels they told me to call warranty company which I did, and they could not find me in their records. I talked to *** ******** (director of operations) on 11/20/24. he was going to call his *** and get back to me which never happened. I called again then was told he would have service order the part I asked how he knew what part, so I emailed him pictures. I still have not heard back with ***eated calls and messages left. They have my money, and I would like it back since it was never turned over to the warranty company.I did email *** my receipts with the warranty paid on 11/20/2024.I paid them $699.98 plus Pa Sales tax of 7% at this point I would like my money back for both extended warranties.

On Sept. 6, 2024, I purchased in good faith an appliance grouping of $3192.88 from Daniels Appliances, **************************************. This business is associated with the True Value Hardware at the same location. Delivery was scheduled and guaranteed for Sept. ******* between 9 am and 4 pm. On the date of the delivery I was told I was last on the list which was ok because delivery would be by 4 pm before maintenance at my co-op apartment would leave. The delivery person ***** called at 4:45 pm to ask if delivery could be made. I said i didnt think so because maintenance leaves at 4:30 pm. The delivery person said Ill see what I can do. He never called nor did Daniels appliance call me. I had to call them, and still no resolution. Now a sales *** is to call on Sept. 14. In the meantime my co-op doesnt allow weekend deliveries and I am going out of town Sept. *****. So this means I am paying $5/day to keep perishable food in a cooler. Also since no refrigerator delivery today, I had to throw away food that I could no longer keep because no refrigeration. On top of the refrigerator my gas stove was disconnected because maintenance and me thought the stove would be delivered and connected by 4 pm as the sales *** told me. Now I have no way to p***are food. I will be paying about $50 a day for lunch and dinner. I want Daniels to reimburse me for the extra expenses due to their failing to deliver my appliances.

We would like to thank you for your business.
We give our customers a window of 4 hours for their deliveries,
and try our best to keep within those times. There are times that
some deliveries take longer than expected and those can put the
delivery staff behind. We do try our best to be on time. We delivered
the appliances as soon as we could when the customer was available.
