Details: • This occurred 11/8/22. • $415.00 • Tow my vehicle to their business. They refused to tow it to the service center I use for my vehicle. • My car broke down at 7:00pm on Sunday, 11/6/22. I called Anthony's Towing and Collision to tow my car, and I requested they tow it to the service station I use to repair my vehicle. When they arrived, they indicated that they would not tow it to the station I requested (3 miles away) but to their service station (approximately 7.5 miles). They indicated that they would charge me $245. I felt this was a very inflated price, but I was already late for work, so I couldn’t wait for another tow truck, so I felt I had no choice but to have them tow it. I called the next day when I got out of working my 12 hour shift, they told me they would charge me $1,000 for the repair. I called my service station, and they indicated that the repair would only cost $500. I could not get my car until today, 11/8/22 because I work 12 hour shifts and was unable to take care of it until today. When I arranged to have the car towed from Anthony’s to my service center, I was told that they were charging me $85/day for storage, and their credit card machine was broken, so I had to pay cash. They blocked my car in so, I couldn’t move it until I went to the bank to get cash to pay them. Not only do I think the $245 is a ridiculously high price to pay for a tow less than 10 miles, but to add storage costs without telling me, is unethical. • The man at the station was very rude and unwilling to work with me to resolve this issue. I am a young adult, and I feel that he was taking advantage of my youth and inexperience.
