    This dispute involves the unauthorized removal of the awnings by Mamaux Supply at the owner's house (our son's) and unwarranted charges to reinstall the awnings although the awning removal was Mamaux's error. It should be noted that we were happy with Mamaux's service for many years until this questionable business practice became an issue. Despite their error in taking down the awnings contrary to the homeowner's two requests (in Fall 2022 and Fall 2023), it was disappointing that Mamaux refused to reinstall the awnings in 2023 and 2024 without payments of $415.62 and $203.63, respectively.The sequence of events: (1) Fall 2022 the homeowner notified Mamaux by phone to NOT remove the awnings because the awning service was being terminated; (2) Subsequently Mamaux removed the awnings; (3) April 2023 Mamaux refused to reinstall the awnings without payment of $415,62; (4) May 2023 The homeowner noted that the awnings should NOT have been taken down but reluctantly paid the $415.62 charge - the awnings were rehung; (4) November 2023 For a SECOND time Mamaux removed the awnings contrary to the homeowner's request and with NO notification whatsoever (the owner was not even home); (5) October 2024 I contacted Mamaux on behalf of the homeowner (our son) and requested the awnings be rehung at no charge because of the error by Mamaux in removing the awnings; (6) Mamaux disagreed and required payment of $203.63 despite their error and previous payment in 2023; (6) October 2024 - I reluctantly paid the $203.63 charge just to get the awning rehung; (7) October 2024 The awnings were rehung.I consider that both charges of $415.62 (2023) and $203.63 (2024) were unwarranted and should be reimbursed to resolve this dispute. The total charges paid were $619.25

    The purpose of this email is for me - as the homeowner who received service from Mamaux Supply - to give permission for my father, **** P ******, to handle all matters related to the subject dispute with Mamaux Supply.  Reference Complaint ID ********.  

    My father and I both had interactions with Mamaux and both made payments to this business.  From this point forward, my father is permitted to discuss and handle all BBB related matters dealing with Mamaux Supply.

    I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

    I REJECT the Mamaux Supply Response for the following reason:

    The response incorrectly states that Mamaux Supply reinstalled customers awnings at no charge.  This is not true.  Mamaux Supply two times erroneously removed the awnings contrary to the customers request - both in the Fall 2022 and a second time in the Fall 2023.  Mamaux Supply subsequently charged $415.62 to reinstall the awnings in Spring 2023 and charged $203.63 to reinstall the awnings in October 2024.  Mamaux Supply effectively held the awnings hostage until payment was made in both cases.  The total overcharge of $619.25 is being disputed.
