On June 13, 2023, I ordered a cake online for $165.86 after verifying, via email, with the owner, that the cake I was interested in was available. She stated it was, that I should order via their online portal and that I would be contacted prior to my pickup date (July 22, 2023) to finalize details. No one called me, so I called the Weds before to verify the details were correct and a pickup time. The barista I spoke with stated the details were correct and that was all the info she had. We called again to verify a pickup time and a baker and the cake decorator became very hostile with us. After severe behavior on their part and several phone calls, it was agreed on that we could get the cake an hour before the baby shower it was intended for. This made everything difficult but we made it work. The day of the cake itself was not correct. It was decorated differently than instructed on the order sheet, but with time constraints, we accepted the decor as is. When we got to the shower, it was noticed by the staff that the cake was sweating. This seemed odd as it was not hot in the venue and we were told that the cake was freshly baked the night before. The cake decorator stated on the phone Friday night that it was baked "probably after she left" since it was not baked when she had left for the day but verified via text with a baker that it was now baked. The venue staff cut into the cake and discovered it to still be partially frozen, with mold littered all throughout the cake. It appears the cake was placed in the freezer while still hot. The expectant mother has a mold allergy and is also 8 months pregnant. The cake could not be served. We have sent several emails to the owner and called the bakery numerous times only to be told we'll be called back but have heard nothing. I would like a refund since I was given a product that could not be served and to warn others about their horrendous customer service and unsafe food practices. We also have a video of the cake.
