      This complaint is being filed against Studio One Kitchen & Bath Specialists, LLC (License#:******) due to Intent to Defraud for home improvement renovations contracted for my private residence.

      Contractor/ Owner: David A****** and I entered into an initial contract agreement on 11/19/21. On 8/29/22 the demolition of the kitchen started, & a new design allowing more cabinetry and counter space was suggested by Contractor. The change order was emailed which was approved and signed on 9/7/22, totaling $41,221.
      I was informed by Mr. A******’s employee, (Alana), that the project was to be completed within 6-8 weeks. The kitchen renovations remain incomplete now entering a 6-month period. Mr. A****** has stated that he is awaiting the delivery of a cabinet from Fabuwood Cabinetry to replace the above-the-oven cabinet since they installed the wrong size. This resulted in many code compliance violations supported by pictures (electric work, HVAC, plumbing and other issues).

      Mr. A****** stated to me that he would update me regarding the delivery of the cabinet and ensuring that the renovations done were met with the Pennsylvania Code of Compliance standards. I have not heard anything to date from him, and unfortunately will look at taking further action. Our last communication was via email on 1-30-23. I should not have to worry regarding if code regulations have been met and following up as a project manager with a company that is licensed. My mother worked very hard in her life to provide me with this kitchen renovation, and the business practice by Mr. A****** is both unprofessional and unfair.
      I am requesting a full refund for the following reasons:
      • Not completing the scope of work
      • Violation of safety standards and codes detrimental to the life of my family
      • Missing deadlines
      • Poor workmanship and unsatisfactory job
      • Acceptance of payment but failing to complete the job
      • Design deficiencies
      • Deceit/Intent to Defraud

      I just wanted to provide a follow up.

      David A****** did reach out to me and stated that the work Studio One performed is in compliance, although he himself has not been over to my house to review my concerns of code violations in person. He did offer to send the electrician back out to finish the work  and not to address my concerns.  The issue has NOT been resolved and unfortunately, I have now hired a third-party to escalate this matter and to further investigate my concerns of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC code violations.

      We are 19 weeks into a 6 to 8 week kitchen remodel and we can't get them to come and finish the job. The entire job has been one delay after another. They've never been here 5 days a week, but we have been as patient as we can be. I still do not have heating vents in my floor, some of my cupboards need finishing inside so I can start using them, finishing trim needs done, a piece is missing next to my stove, my dishwasher is not attached to anything, the tile backsplash needs installed and the drywall in my garage which is below the kitchen needs all closed back up- that is also my firewall protection.
      The contractor Dave has not been good at letting us know what is going on, but it has gotten worse along the way and was to the point where unless we called him we heard nothing. We left a message for him that he needs to finish this job soon, or we were going to contact the Better Business Bureau. He left us a message swearing and telling us to do whatever we feel like, and that we can handle this legally. When my husband tried to call him again he swore at him and hung up on him. I called and left him a message and he will not call me back.
      We would just like him to come and finish what needs done and never have to see or speak to him again.

      The job was completely finished to our satisfaction, and a final payment was mailed to the owner of the business.
