We had an estimate done by Chris B****** Carpentry in October 2021 for work to be done on our existing deck and roof. Contractor was contacted multiple times for a start date until he finally committed to start after we both signed the building permit on June 8, 2022. We heard nothing from Contractor and contacted him on July 8, 2022, in which he stated things had come up, but he would be able to start by July 22, 2022. Contractor was contacted on that date, and he stated he needed one more work and ‘we were his.’ Contractor was contacted on August 4, 2022. Contractor’s assistant showed up and did some demo work but only worked approximately 2 hours. No one showed till the following week (August 8) and Contractor and assistant spent time doing demo work for two days (they worked 2-3 hours each day and then left). Before returning on August 10 Contractor stated had a vehicle issue which kept him from working that day and after discussion our family and contractor decided he would start back up on August 22, 2022, due to us going on vacation. We contacted Contractor on August 21 to verify he would be starting back on August 22, 2022, and he stated he would be there. Contractor and helper showed up at 10:00 am on the 22nd and worked 4 more hours, took a lunch and went to pick up materials for our deck but did not return that day. Contractor worked 4 more hours on August 23, left to go to Home Depot to get a saw blade to continue project work and returned finishing up at 3:20 pm. Contractor showed up on August 24 at 9:25 a.m. and texted us at 10:07 a.m. that he had to get some wasp killer and trim. On August 24 after working 3 hours Contractor stated he was heading out as he didn’t feel good but his assistant would continue to work, but assistant only stayed about another hour and was gone at 2 p.m. August 24 was the last day of work on our project. Contractor was fired on August 29, 2022 from the project due to lack of attendance at our home.
