I have had **** insurance with my company for years. I finally start going back on my meds . First they denied my blood pressure meds then now my adhd meds. This company is fully tax exempt and care more about the board members making money then patient care. This company is a joke. They screwed over employees patients and people of Pittsburgh and of pa. They take and take. They pay no money in communities they are in. And denying patients care and if they do act like your covered they bill you later so much that that you need to go bankrupt or sell everything. This company are criminals and I hope someday day the politicians will get out of there pockets and investigate they fully. They need a full audit

UPMC is using (or should I say abusing) a 94 year old mother, grandmother and great grandmother with Alzheimer's to refuse to work with me on a payment plan for the money that is owed. This is despite UPMC listing on their web site how they will work with us to come up with a payment plan.UPMC could have culpability for mom being hospitalized in the first place because they did not have rails on her bed so she couldn't fall off. Now that she is in the hospital, they are refusing to take her back until I pay up. Imagine a care facility refusing to take back your mother who needs specialized care because they won't agree to a fair payment plan even after I also submitted the necessary application for assistance.I think it is reprehensible on UPMC's part to use my mother in this way. She was injured in a fall at their facility and they are refusing to give me a payment plan option. I am willing to work with them on this and yet they refuse. That is why I am writing this review.Given this experience, I would not use UPMC unless it was absolutely necessary.

UPMC Urgent Care charges punitively high amounts for unacceptably poor quality of care. I went to the branch in Monroeville ~a month ago with a severe cough. Despite barely being able to finish a sentence I was told that I was fine and should be good to return to work within a day or two. This did not happen and the cough is still persisting over a month later. For the privilege of having this misadventure, I was billed $222 for ~fifteen minutes if the NP's time plus another $275 for a swab test for flu/Covid/RSV (these numbers are pre-discounts for in network treatment). For perspective these tests cost $20 at Walgreens with insurance or $130 at LabCorp without insurance. When the bill came, I promptly filed a complaint with UPMC to highlight these obvious discrepancies. It has been over a week and I have not received an answer. To reiterate - UPMC Urgent Care barely attempted to help, overcharged me by at least $100, possibly $200, and stonewalled me when I tried to get answers.

Our son had a scheduled procedure to check a heart murmur. I specifically called the doctor who recommended the procedure and got the codes he wanted **** to use and we were told it would be around $300. When we got our bill it was $1700 and they used completely different codes than what was sent. I have called multiple times and each time they tell me they will check on it and then nothing happens until we get an additional statement in the mail saying they are sending us to claims for negligence to pay. I have never been so disgusted with a medical system. This group is dishonest, unethical, and uncaring. It seems criminal what they are allowed to do with no way to stand against them. My next step is to see if there is an option to ****

I recently had a tree fall on me. When the ambulance came, there were two paramedics on the ambulance that were UPMC employees. They stripped me naked and put all my belongings in a red bag. these bags are only for medical bloody waste. They made no effort to make sure I got them. Instead the ER tossed all my belongings in the dumpster, including $350-$400 in cash in my biker wallet. UPMC first told me they would replace everything. I first told them it was $300 knowing the big bills I had in, But then I remembered the $50 that I kept in the card section for emergencies when I ran out of money. I told them it was at least $350 then. So three of these office people come into my room and first tell me I don't get any of the "stolen" cash back, which is most likely the story, as one of the nurses told me a person had been recently charged with the same. These office people in a threatening way, forced me to accept their offer, by letting me know I had nobody to bring me clothes. So their offer was no money, or nothing at all and I'd have to take them to court. These are the people pumping me with drugs and are making threatening deals like this. So I agreed just to save my life. Then I recently found out because I changed the amount form $300 to $350 they claim I'm a liar just trying to steal from these UPMC thieves. Who in their right mind just try to get another $50? These people are mentally ill. So they replaced all but my neck warmer, belt, and long johns. They also promised to have all my keys replaced and also quit before this. So now my losses amount to $350+$264=$614 that they stole from me. PSP tells me it was an accident and cannot be charged. The law says if you dispose of another's property, it's theft of movable property. What best was to steal than taking money from a wallet and then disposing of it, so nobody knows your money has been taken. UPMC needs to hire more responsible people and keep a closer eye on them.
