      On 8-21-21 I signed a contract with this company to get a new roof and gutters and spouts he stated is would cost 13,290.00. He stated he need half down to start on 8-23-21 I met him in squirrel hill and gave him a check for 7,000 that he cashed a couple week later material was delivered. I called Marvin over and over asking when will the job start he stated he was in the hospital and will send somebody out in a couple of days 11-24-21 someone final came out and started the work (just the roof) 11-26-21 they was done but they started cleaning up and taking like 10 or more un open shingles and putting them in the truck I called him (marvin) and asked was i being charged for all those material that they took back he stated he was going to call them and call me back and never did in 12-22 unsure of the date I called him again to complain that they disconnected my dish but left it hanging on the side of my house and it keeps hitting the side of my house he stated he will send somebody out he never did I had to get it removed I call numerous times to find out when was he coming back out to finish left messages no respounce back just in the last couple of month Ive called he finally answered and stated he has been in the hospital had back surgery and had to learn how to walk again but will send someone out to finished the job now am calling he is back to not picking up they left spouts and gutter disconnect and now when it rain my porch get wet and water goes where it should not go I do have the contract and can get a copy of the check

      J&L construction company/Marvin was a contractor we had used in the pass to fix our roof. He was contracted a few years later for outdoor carpet to the concrete steps, concrete over side grass area, and fencing. To date there is leaking in my daughters room near the chimney, the outdoor carpet is coming off the steps, and the concrete has discoloration and uneven pavement throughout, creating a hazzard for anyone walking on it.

      I have known her for years work done 2yrs ago

      If roof leaking I was next door to her grandmas house she never said a word to me or my men

      If there is a problem I will do what is necessary

      I don't have problem with the neighbors although ***** and neighbor don't talk. Not my business but if we went there working, just

      Better Business Bureau:

      I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. 

      I'm not sure why Marvin is referencing the neighbors here, as this has absolutely nothing to do with them. I have never seen him at the neighbors house nor did I know he had any business with them.

      I have provided pictures of the shoddy workmanship; therefore we are not interested in him ever coming here to do business for us again.

      Over all I want people to becareful who they contract.

      Hi,
      I had another roof person over today and tried taking better pictures. The roofee said the chimney cap is coming off and that's cement hanging out of it. 

      Also the new shingles Marvin replaced aren't flat but bumpy allowing water to come in.

      My men went to her grandmother home to repair opening around flashing.  Nobody else grandmother was there a picture is worth nothing here.  A chimney cap is ontop of chimney looks like a birds nest hanging down.  Sorry for being forward to you.  Have a great weekend.

      Hi,

      I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  
      My name is on the deed to the house. It was not a birds nest. It was cement from the chimney cap that was hanging on, done by your men. Pictures are everything. I had another roofer come and fix what we paid you to do. Your men left nails sticking up pushing the shingles up. The cement and steps were done by some of your other men who did an equally unprofessional job. You took advantage of us and I want it noted in the BBB.
