    Engaged in a contract for $1.1M with Acorn Builders, LLC (Pat B******) September 2021. The project has still not been completed, he no longer can be reached, our construction loan has been spent, and we have unpaid subcontractors sending us Notifications of intent to file mechanics liens against our property. We have at least $200K of unfinished work, not including legal fees and extra costs of nearly a year of missed original deadline.

    We sold our other home and had to scramble to find a place to live.

    To date I have paid $270,000 to Acorn Builders to perform work (full renovation) to my home per a signed contract between myself and Acorn. The estimated date of completion on the contract is 12/1/2022. As of May 13, 2023 the work is 60% completed and the owner, Pat Bronder, is unreachable. Four subcontractors on the job are owed a combined $33,500, there is a set of kitchen cabinets at a vendor but the $16,000 payment to have them delivered was never made my Acorn Builders, and I am now stuck with an unlivable house and have no more money. Acorn Builders even left me with a pile of construction debris on the porch.
