manager named ****** refused to exchange burned out light bulbs that busy beaver has under warranty for two years i told him to call custermer service he refused i have called custumer service twice and got no call backBusiness Response
Date: 05/30/2025
The customer visited our location seeking to exchange a burnt-out light bulb and presented a receipt dated October 2024.
While we understand the frustration of dealing with a non-functioning product, Busy Beaver maintains a 90-day return policy on items purchased in our stores. This policy is clearly posted in our stores and on our receipts. Unfortunately, the return in question fell well outside this 90-day window.
The bulb in question was manufactured by *****, a company that provides a two-year warranty on its products. Our store manager, *******, courteously explained that while we could not accept the return due to our policy, the customer could pursue a warranty claim directly with the manufacturer. He also provided the customer with ****** toll-free customer service number to assist with initiating that process.
We understand the customers frustration in not being able to reach the manufacturer immediately, we are committed to helping our customers navigate warranty issues when possible and welcome any further questions the customer may have about this process. The customer may seek out more warranty information directly from the manufacturer website found: ***************************************

Busy Beaver Building Centers, **** acknowledges receipt of the above-referenced complaint. As the Director of Retail Operations, who is deeply committed to total customer satisfaction, I am made aware of any customer complaints our company receives, which are fortunately very few.
We value Mrs. ******* feedback regarding his shopping experience at our *******, ************ location, and surprised to hear he has concerns with returning the lightbulbs given our return policy that is outlined at the front of the store and on the back of his receipt. Our return policy states as follows: All purchases may be returned within 90 days of receipt. Mr. ****** purchased the lightbulbs on 10/25/24, which is outside of the 90-day return policy. Please find his receipt attached.
Additionally, Mr. ****** is being highly aggressive with our associates at the store and the store support level. Our highest priority is the safety and well-being of our associates, so for a customer to maliciously and undeservingly attempt to slander our very good reputation is something we will not continue to engage in.
We consider this matter closed and appreciate the involvement of the BBB.

See letters to Busy Beaver which are attached for details. I purchased a bathtub and wall surround kit on 11-24-15. This was installed by a professional contractor. I discovered several cracks in the tub in October 2021. This happened during COVID. I took pictures of the cracks and my original purchase receipt to my local Busy Beaver to see if there was any warrantee as I had no documents of such. They said it was covered and offered me a new tub and wall kit. I had my neighbor haul it to my home. I hired a different contractor to install this one. After he dismantled my bathroom for the install it was discovered this tub was also cracked. We returned to the local store again and after searching many Busy Beaver locations they finally located one without cracks. It was shipped to Mt Pleasant but my contractor had to reschedule my install at this point. We finally got the new tub and wall kit installed on 11-22-21. It was then I found the warrantee still attached to the new tub. The original installer had removed it and I had no idea it was enclosed. So I called Sterling. I was told the store should have told to call them. They would have come to my home and repaired the cracks for free. I paid $2200 for the install. I would like reimbursed as my local store misdirected me. I told them at my first appearance there, that I had no warrantee info. The local store said to contact the Corp HQ. I have tried to contact the home office - but never got any response: I called and sent 2 letters (both attached)
I am now seeking BBB assistance in the matter. This is why my complaint is past the one year mark.Business Response

Busy Beaver Building Centers,
Inc. acknowledges receipt of the above referenced complaint. As a CEO that is deeply
committed to total customer satisfaction, I am made aware of any customer
complaint our company receives which are fortunately very few.
The product was purchased on November
24, 2015 by the customer and installed by the customers contractor. In October
of 2021, just shy of six (6) years later, cracks were discovered. Busy
Beaver has no way of knowing how the cracks occurred which could have been
through the customers or contractors handling, contractors’ installation and /
or use by the customer. In addition, the customer has the option to contact the
manufacturer to file a claim.
In an effort to demonstrate our commitment
to providing a high level of customer service, we are willing to issue a gift
card in the amount of $515.16 and have already reached out to the manufacturer
to ask them for assistance in resolving for the customer.
I hope you find this to be an
acceptable resolution and once accepted as full resolution, we will have the
gift card processed and sent to customer.
Sincerely yours,

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]
It appears from the response that Busy Beaver did NOT read my complaint. They are issuing me the funds to purchase another tub from the manufacturer. I ALREADY HAVE THAT TUB! MY COMPLAINT IS THAT I HAD TO PAY $2200 TO HAVE THAT INSTALLED WHEN I SHOULD HAVE BEEN DIRECTED TO STERLING TO REPAIR IT AT NO CHARGE! i AM SEEKING REFUNDING OF THE INSTALLATION OF THE ITEMS YOU A;LREADY ISSUED ME! A GIFT CARD TO THE MANUFACTURER DOES NOTHING FOR ME!

Inc. acknowledges receipt of the follow-up to the above referenced complaint. Contrary
to the notes in the follow-up, we did read through and research the materials
provided as well as the managers that were involved.
Busy Beaver was not involved in
nor responsible for the installation of the tub that was purchased. The
product was purchased on November 24, 2015 by the customer and installed
by the customers contractor. In October of 2021, just shy of
six (6) years later, cracks were discovered. Busy Beaver has no way of knowing

We were willing to issue a gift
card in the amount of $515.16 to help the customer offset their costs of

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]The tub has a 10 year warranty - which again I had no written info on because the professional installer destroyed it upon installing. Your Mt Pleasant store did NOT have installers available at the original purchase or when the cracks appeared. I specifically asked to have "your professionals" install it. I was told to find my own both times. When I called about the warrantee (after the second install) Sterling told me to reach out to Busy Beaver as they consider Busy Beaver at fault for misleading me when my inital claim In person to the manager, was that I had a cracked tub and no dox other than the orignal receipt. Also regarding your insinuation that we somehow cracked the tub: it took your Mt Pleasant manager calling all of the stores and having them open numerous tubs to locate one without any visible cracks! The giftcard does me no good.
