      I called Reliable Home works on 3/20 to cancel my gas line
      Protection. I was advised by
      Hayley that since the bill was already produced a credit would appear on my next bill. While I was not billed for the protection on my April bill,
      there was no credit. I called and now was told that no credit would be issued for the last billing. I requested a supervisor
      Call me back twice and no one
      Has called. I am requesting a
      Credit from when the service was cancelled.

      I had an emergency gas line replacement last Thursday and Friday April 13, & 14th 2023. I called Peoples gas to file a claim with my Gas Line Protection Plan which I pay to Peoples Gas every month and was referred to Reliable HomeWorks. I called them and was immediately denied my claim since I did not use THEIR preferred contractor. No where was I informed by Peoples Gas that I had to call Reliable HomeWorks for gas line replacement. It is insurance I paid to Peoples gas. It was an emergency and got denied the claim by Reliable HomeWorks. I need either Peoples gas or Reliable HomeWorks to step up an pay my claim. This is not acceptable at all. I will be filing a report on People Next.

      This correspondence is intended as a formal response to your April 18, 2023, letter to Reliable Home Works ("Home Works") in connection with the above-referenced matter. 

      Please be advised that Home Works has reviewed all of its applicable files on the matter and hereby reaffirms its position that no reimbursement can be issued under Mr. *****'s Gas Service Line Protection Program. 

      Mr. ***** has a Gas Service Line Protection Program agreement with Home Works. Coverage on a gas service line is from the curb box to the meter. Home Works contacted Peoples Natural Gas ("Peoples") to inquire if they condemned the gas service line. Peoples advised Mr. ***** did not contact them for a service technician to go out to diagnose if there was a problem with his gas service line. They further provided information that Mr. ***** advised he was having work done on a deck and his contractor determined the line needed replaced. 

      The Reliable Home Works Protection Program Terms and Conditions (enclosed) address that services will be completed by its contractors and the customer is responsible to contact HomeWorks to arrange for repairs in A8: 
      Reliable Home Works intends to retain qualified local independent contractors to provide Program services to Customers. Line repair or replacement/equipment repair services will be performed by Reliable Home Works network of service providers (Contractors) and Reliable Home Works will have no liability to Customer for services rendered by unauthorized third party contractors. Customer must contact Reliable HomeWorks at ************** to arrange for line repair or replacement. Reliable Home Works will make an effort to accommodate Customer schedules, however, services will be dispatched based upon available times during normal business hours (8:00 am - 5:00 pm), Monday through Friday, except holidays. In no event shall Reliable Home Works or its contractors be liable for delays or a failure to provide service, materials and/or merchandise. The Contractor will contact the Customer within eighteen (18) hours to arrange for repair or replacement of the line/equipment. 

      The Terms and Conditions also specifically address that the gas service line must be taken out of service by the utility in B1: 

      The Gas Service Line Protection Program (Program) is available to Customers who own and maintain a gas service line to their single-family residence which has been taken out of service by the local utility in the event of a line break or leak caused by normal wear and tear. The Program only covers lines in size up to two inches (2") in diameter and having a maximum length of one hundred twenty-five feet (125'). The maximum Reliable Home Works will pay to repair or replace a gas service line under the Program is $2,000. 

      Home Works was not contacted by Mr. ***** until he had his contractor complete the work and unfortunately has no way to confirm there was an issue. Accordingly, we trust that this letter is responsive to your correspondence and will serve to fully address Mr. *****'s complaint. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this matter, please contact HomeWorks at the address above.
