On August 1, I had appointment at Golla for a Worker's Compensation claim. I should have not received a bill for this at all. The email I received with the $50 charge is a no-reply address. I called the office, and the option for billing on their automated system just hangs up. I spoke to the Office Manager, and she said that billing is done off-site and the woman who does it won't even reply to her when she contacts her about a billing problem. It is unfair for ANY Golla patient (not just a worker's comp patient) can never get a billing question resolved.

We are in a process of changing billers that's why the prompt hangs up - our billing issues are being resolved - We are sorry for the inconvenience.  The new biller is aware of this patient and will re-go over - Thank you!

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 22223789, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

The business' response they "will re-go order." I have no idea what this means. They did not say that I do not have to pay the $50 charge that should have never been sent to me. I have already filed a complaint with PA's Worker Compensation board and am awaiting a hearing for this charge. Golla could have resolved this on day one by correctly saying I owed nothing, but they haven't done that.

    Regards,

James*W**** PA-C performed punchbiopsy on my right leg 15aug2023. Failure to submit accurate Medicare Insurance Info, code, mailingaddress to ProPathLabs ****************************** which resulted in $250maximum payment due. Multiplecalls to: **** ********** owner/execdir@OakridgeMedicalBilling LLC *** ****** ****** **** ***************************** To Date,I have not yet heard from any of these parties.Bill will become 60+ days in delinquency. Additionally, I contacted this out of state pathology lab's billing dept. regarding corrections in this matter. Further, sustained personal injuries that required prescription medication as well as exam by another physician for this unnecessary medical punch biopsy procedure and sutures.

The patient presented to our office for the diagnosis and management of a lesion on her leg. The standard of care was followed which requires obtaining a biopsy of the lesion for histologic evaluation by a dermatopathologist. This was discussed with the patient and written consent was obtained. The specimen was sent to an outside laboratory which handles its own billing. The patient may have an obligation to pay the lab or the dermatopathologist- this is beyond the control of the office. Furthermore, a statement of financial obligation was signed by the patient. Subsequent follow-up occurred at which time her biopsy results were reviewed and satisfactory improvement of the problem documented. The standard of care was followed. This is the first time the office has become aware of the patient's complaint regarding her insurance submission. The office billing company is a separate entity. The Golla Center is ready and willing to assist this patient with any medical concerns and we are happy to discuss her billing concern. Additionally, the office will assist in any way, including acting as an intermediary between the Center, the Biller, or the Lab. Rose, the office manager, is available during business hours by calling: ###-###-#### and selecting the option to speak to the office manager. Again, this is the office's first notification of a concern. We are confident in the care provided and are happy to assist, as much as possible, with billing questions. We are only a phone call away.
