To Ms. ******* *****; Davison would like to express its appreciation for your comments. While many individuals may express thanks, it is not often that a client takes the time to post their positive experience to organizations such as the Better Business Bureau. As a result, review sites are filled with a seemingly overwhelming volume of negativity. Again, Davison extends its appreciation for your time and consideration. For over 30 years, Davison has helped everyday people prepare and present their ideas to corporations, manufacturers, and retailers to see if they would be willing to license the product ideas. Our exclusive idea to product method is responsible for more products on the store shelves than any other competitor in this industry. Quick facts about Davison and our process • We are based in Pittsburgh, PA and works with clients from around the world. • We have been in business since 1989. • Our products have been sold by over 1,000 stores & online retailers. • We design, build and package products for both individuals and corporate clients. • Our staff is dedicated to helping bring new product ideas to life. • Our staff has won numerous design awards for innovative product designs. • We are a member of the Online Business Bureau and other affiliate groups. We encourage any questions or concerns be brought to our attention at ***@**************.com. Maybe we can help. Thank you.Review fromAnita M

I would give them a Zero but I could not so they get one star. Davison is the most dysfunctional business I have ever dealt with. They made mistake after mistake, over and over again. Customer service is non existent, they have zero internal communications and absolutely inoperable strategies for success. AWEFUL!!!!!Davison Design & Development, Inc.

To Ms. ***** *****; You have been a valued client and Davison takes your concerns seriously. A review of your file indicates that the services provided to date have been completed with your express written approval and authorization. Further, the performance of services met with your documented satisfaction. There is no factual basis for your comments. From the time of an initial contact, through the research and development of a new product idea, to the presentation of a client’s product sample, we try to maintain an open channel of communication, disclosing our services and fees upfront and securing our clients’ approval and authorization throughout the process. Before any person is able to submit their idea through Davison’s website, they are provided with, and must acknowledge having received and read, two disclosure statements. The disclosures are provided in a printable and savable format and provide, among other details, a listing of all services offered and their related fees. It is not possible to be more upfront with potential clients about the fees and services. Following your acknowledgment of the disclosures, you entered into an agreement for Pre-Development services which obligated Davison to compile research data related to your product idea. Davison completed the Pre-Development services and the compiled research was provided to you. Apparently satisfied with the service, you entered into a second contract for a wide range of services including the design and creation of a sample and presentation material and presentation of your product idea to a number of corporations. During the course of performing the services, you provided your signed approval of the design and your signed authorization to make the presentations. Further, you completed two questionnaires about the process in which you provided nothing but positive feedback. Unfortunately, no corporation has yet agreed to license your idea. As detailed above, the services provided to date have been with your express written approval and authorization. While it is unfortunate that your product idea has not yet been licensed, the simple truth is; there is no guarantee that a particular product idea will be licensed. Davison goes to great lengths to disclose the risks to all individuals who may submit an idea for a new product. In addition to disclosing all of its services and fees upfront, the historical success rates of securing a license and of realizing a financial gain are provided. The contracts for services repeatedly provide disclosures that there is no guarantee that a product will be licensed, or that a client will realize a financial gain. The reality for most individuals is that their product does not get licensed. When faced with an outcome not meeting their unrealistic expectations, too many clients forget that they knowingly undertook a risk after being fully informed of the risk by Davison. Instead, they lash out, relying on a mistaken belief that their product ideas were special and should have prevailed where others did not. For over 30 years, Davison has helped everyday people prepare and present their ideas to corporations, manufacturers, and retailers to see if they would be willing to license the product ideas. To *** ****** *********; You have been a valued client and Davison takes your concerns seriously. A review of your file indicates that the services provided to date have been completed with your express written approval and authorization. Further, the performance of services met with your documented satisfaction. There is no factual basis for your comments. Apparently satisfied with the service, you entered into a second contract for a wide range of services including the design and creation of a sample and presentation material and presentation of your product idea to a number of corporations. During the course of performing the services, you provided your signed approval of the design and your signed authorization to make the presentations. A first list of companies that have been contacted has been provided to you. Once these presentations are resolved, additional companies will be identified and contacted. In your review, you claim to have been working with Davison for more than four (4) years, that is not accurate. You first contacted Davison in January 2020, and the current contract for services was entered on July 01, 2021. Next you allege a lack of communication. Communication is important and Davison tries to provide prompt, professional and regular communication. From the time of an initial contact, and throughout the development and presentation of the idea, Davison maintains an open channel of communication. Prompt responses are to be expected, immediate responses are unreasonable. I think these people were desperate when I gave them the money to complete a very simple task considering I had all of the research completed it was handwritten but all that had to be done was editing and the paperback booklet was less than 50 pages. They took my money and sold me a dream. The prototype or whatever this guideline of the way they do business with examples of other projects they have worked on but none compare to my project it had nothing to do with what we discussed nor did it have any of my input. I was hustled for $500 and told I needed $16,000 more to complete the first 1/2 of the project. I told them the world's greatest novel didn't cost that much to make. ****, there are movies that have been in a theater that had a lower budget than that. These people are out of their minds and I wish they would have told me upfront that there were going to be additional costs and what those costs were going to be but they have been in business so long that the speel they have is almost unbreakable and I fell for it! I wish they would send me my 500$ back as I am unsatisfied and I am already on public assistance and did not have $500 to throw away. That invention I came up with someone has already gotten wind of it or I am almost sure my million-dollar idea has been leaked and I am going to see my idea all over all the time because I have waited to do this! I should have done this when it first happened back in March of this year! I need my money back!Davison Design & Development, Inc.

To Ms. ****** *****; You have been a valued client and Davison takes your concerns seriously. A review of your file indicates that all contracted services have been completed. Additional services were offered, but you have not engaged those services. There is no basis for a refund for services rendered. From the time of an initial contact, through the research and development of a new product idea, to the presentation of a client’s product sample, we try to maintain an open channel of communication, disclosing our services and fees upfront and securing our clients’ approval and authorization throughout the process. Following your acknowledgment of the disclosures, you entered into an agreement for Pre-Development services which obligated Davison to compile research data related to your product idea. Davison completed the Pre-Development services and the compiled research was provided to you. It is not uncommon for multiple people to have the same, or similar, idea. The purpose of Davison’s initial pre-development service is two-fold; first, to provide the client with some understanding of the nature and extent of the “prior art” so that they may be more informed before deciding to pursue further development of their idea; and second to provide guidance to the design team to ensure the proposed product design does not conflict with a third party’s rights. This service was completed and additional services offered. You decided to not pursue the product idea further. For over 30 years, Davison has helped everyday people prepare and present their ideas to corporations, manufacturers, and retailers to see if they would be willing to license the product ideas. I signed up with this company back in 2017 not knowing that they were going through a class action suit. The initial sign up was paying for a search for my product (which I don’t believe they did), pre-development which consisted of just videos talking about their company & other people’s products that they had nothing to do with & a few illustrations. Until last year they had only realized how my product worked. Also they kept calling my product something that it wasn’t & after getting the 2nd sample they had the nerve to put the wrong name of the product with the sample. The 2nd sample again was a piece of garbage. I spent a small fortune & all I have to show for it is an info commercial where they looked like they hired someone off the street, using the piece of garbage sample. I had also paid them to get a licensing agreement where they were suppose to have contacted 45 companies. After looking through all the emails & the paperwork I only received 26. I asked for Davison to provide proof that they had contacted the manufacturers. I was ignored & told to look at my contract! One thing has nothing to do with the other. I decided to contact these 26 companies. I was told by 1 that they haven’t dealt with Davison since 2018, 1 stated that Davison was trying to sign them on, nothing about my product & a few wanted to talk to me about my product & the rest never heard of them. I reached out to a few different companies & they had never heard of Davison also. The sample is not viable so I had to reach out to an expert to redo it. Davison also suggested getting a production quote & charged me for it. The quote came from their company itself. The companies I contacted was very willing to give me a quote for free, matter of fact sent me samples for no charge. Davison has charged outrageous amounts of money for doing nothing, saying they have done services that were paid for which they haven’t or the services are so badly done they can not be used.Davison Design & Development, Inc.

To Ms. ********; You have been a valued client and Davison takes your concerns seriously. A review of your file indicates that all services have been completed with your express written approval and authorization. Despite this fact, you feel justified in posting your unsupported comments. Following your acknowledgment of the disclosures, you entered into a number of service contracts, these services were satisfactorily performed. Specifically, a design was created which you approved in writing, and about which you completed a questionnaire giving nothing but positive feedback. Based on that approval, the physical sample and presentation material were created. You authorized the presentation of your product idea and completed a second questionnaire about the presentation material, again providing nothing but positive feedback. Unfortunately, no corporation chose to license your idea. As detailed above, Davison performed all contracted services to your satisfaction. While it is unfortunate that your product idea was not licensed, the simple truth is; there is no guarantee that a particular product idea will be licensed. Davison goes to great lengths to disclose the risks to all individuals who may submit an idea for a new product. Instead, they voice their dissatisfaction with unsupported comments, relying on a mistaken belief that their product ideas were special and should have prevailed where others did not. Finally, in your post you clearly state that you have contacted some of the companies disclosed to you by Davison. This conduct is in direct violation of your obligation under the confidentiality contract you entered when you secured Davison’s services. Corporations, in general, are hesitant to confidentially receive new product ideas from the general public. The corporations that register with Davison agree to review projects in confidence and in exchange want to limit their communication to only Davison. The alternative is that the corporation gets swamped with update requests and projects are rejected summarily. That is the reason that every client of Davison agrees to not contact the corporations that are disclosed to them. There is no ulterior motive, only the attempt to ensure our clients’ projects are given a fair and thorough review. The potential harm in a client violating this Agreement is not limited to that client’s particular project, but extends to all other client projects that are being reviewed, or may be reviewed in the future, by the specific corporation. The Confidentiality Agreement is explicitly clear; “I [the Client] agree that my violation of this agreement will result in the immediate termination of all contracts between myself and Davison…” For over 30 years, Davison has helped everyday people prepare and present their ideas to corporations, manufacturers, and retailers to see if they would be willing to license the product ideas. The audacity of this response. First I was only a value customer when I was paying ******************. When you don't want to pay them anymore they have nothing to do with you. The so-called correspondence with them is that they call you once a month & if you call before that time they get annoyed & again told there was nothing going on. As far as being satisfied, its quite obvious I'm not satisfied with Davison & all of the other people on here with complaints. Not including the ******************* of complaints I found on other websites. I even found a site where an employee of Davison verified that Davison was scamming people. You claim that Davison is accredited with the Better Business Bureau? I don't know where you got that information but counselor you need to check your information. I spoke to the ************************** was informed that Davison is NOT accredited with the Better Business Bureau and they hold a "F" rating! Davison's staff had a big problem with answering questions & when you ask too many I was switched to someone else. The 1st sample I received I returned it and just after I was told that there was nothing more they could do for me because I wouldn't pay them another 21k for the piece of garbage to be mass produced in their factory I was sent the 2nd sample. You can obviously tell that it was a rushed job, it didn't work properly & it was not in the material that I asked for. Like I said before Davison couldn't get the idea of my product until last YEAR! Counselor, did you not take an oath of upholding the law? I have one word for you and your ************** KARMA!Review fromTina T

This is a rather mixed review, for a fairly mixed experience. From the beginning to near end communication basically stayed with one person who was very respectful, patient, and timely throughout. Despite that my project actually made it into licensing, it never showed anything past pre-development in my account on the website... a minor complaint. Now with the licensing stage came a new project handler who pretty much was the same as the first, until the number of pitches paid for was exhausted. Then things just kind of dissipated after I really couldn't afford more time, which I guess is fair. I, unfortunately, wound up licensing my project during a time when not many places were doing anything due to COVID. But with as much money as I have given them, and as little as was necessary to bring forth the project to licensing without a physical product. One would think because of the climate at the time being as it was, perhaps an extension of some sort would have been offered. On top of this, again after paying what I have, why do I feel as though, now, in the end, the effort was only there to get me to the next price tag? My project being what it was, should have easily taken off if the outside events hadn't happened. Now I understand what I paid could be considered minimal compared to let's say paying for an actual patent. It was still hard to acquire, and I really don't feel as though I got my money's worth. Especially since now sometime after the end of things I have basically nothing to show for the thousands I have spent there.Davison Design & Development, Inc.

Davison speaks of savings and royalty incentives. The pre-development contract, has tiered level of royalties that depends on the amount of money paid upfront. The Idea Security Agreement I signed mentioned nothing about the $13-17k that was to be paid IN ADDITION to royalties. I explained that I was not thrilled with that not being mentioned upfront. My invention booklet that was mailed did not include that. I only received a QR ticket to visit the invention factory and a survey to return. I would have weighed my options if I was willing to move forward, if more information was given upfront, versus providing this information AFTER $800 was paid. BOTTOM LINE: I WAS SCAMMED!I hope moving forward, that Davison decides to focus on including the proper information to prospective inventors upfront in written format (contract) as opposed to sending videos. I'm not interested in watching any further videos about "****** *********" or a meatball lady. My major concern was that if $13- $17k was not disclosed upfront or mentioned in the patent search contract, but then mentioned in the pre-development contract, what other additional unforeseen fees will be presented in the future? That experience left a bad taste in my mouth. I'm not satisfied or comfortable proceeding with Davison due to these concerns, terminating the contract is fine. I ate my losses. I prefer to waste $800, as opposed to $17k + licensing, funding warehouse production equipment, and whatever other fees they would have tacked on. I don't want to invest in a money pit, all I ever wanted was a simple tool.Davison Design & Development, Inc.

To Ms. ***************************** have been a valued client, and your concerns are taken seriously. Unfortunately, the comments in your review are false and inflammatory. As will be detailed below, Davison discloses, in advance, its services and fees and the contracts are simply written, with no fine print provisions; it is not possible to be more upfront with its clients. Thus you were informed of the services and fees BEFORE entering any contract for services. The research services for which you contracted were performed and you have not engaged any further services. There is no basis for your comments. Your allegation that you were not informed of the fees and services is false. You contacted Davison through its website on 03/28/2022 and again on 03/29/2022. The electronic submission system utilized by Davison makes it impossible for a client to submit an idea without having two separate disclosures displayed in a printable and savable format. It is important to note that the disclosures are made BEFORE the client enters any service contract or makes any payment to Davison. Among the disclosures is the statement that It is Davisons normal practice to seek more than one contract in connection with a submitted idea. The disclosure then provides a listing of the various services and related fees. You acknowledged, via an electronic signature, that you both received and read these disclosures. The disclosures are also freely available on Davisons website. Having received those disclosures, you entered into the initial pre-development contract for the performance of research related to your submitted idea. It bears noting that the disclosures referenced above are again provided as part of the pre-development contract. The contract by it very title Pre-Development and its terms, repeatedly reference that development services are not covered by the agreement. For over 30 years, Davison has helped everyday people prepare and present their ideas to corporations, manufacturers, and retailers to see if they would be willing to license the product ideas. To *** ***** ******; Davison would like to express its appreciation for your comments.
