    No money was exchanged. This is in regards to a negative review I left for the company. They wrote a very innapropriate response with lies in it. I kept trying to call to get them to take it down but they pick up and hang up on me.

    ******** ******** put down a deposit in the amount of $1,395 via Venmo on January 24, 2025.  She and her fiance both completed applications to rent one of our properties for residential use.  Upon conducted a background check via Stessa with Rent Prep, it was discovered that ******** ******** has a tax lien on her name, birthdate and social security number out of ***************  Due to this, she was not eligible to to rent from us.  She and her fiance were both notified of this via email on January 28, 2025.  The adverse action notice is attached.  ******** ******** called our management office on February 28, 2025 and February 29, 2025 to complain about being rejected and explained that she "let her students do her taxes" and that's why the tax lien is on her record.  We informed her that in order to be reconsidered for approval, she would need to have the lien paid and/or discharged from her record.  She got very upset and proceeded to begin screaming expletives and name-calling.  The adverse action notice was emailed and mailed with the refund check.  She was mailed a refund via **** on January 29, 2025 to the address listed on her application, *****************************************  The parcel was signed for by ******** ******** upon delivery by the carrier on February 1, 2025 at 11:50AM.  On February 21, 2025 ******** ******** left a review on our ****** page, to which we responded.  She was unhappy with our response, so she deleted the review.  She then proceeded to call our office back-to-back over 50 times before we had to block her number and threaten her with legal action via email.  I have attached our email to her as well as her response.  I'm not sure what she's looking for here as she is the one who deleted the review but we have no further communication with her.

    I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

    I have read the response from Regent Square Rentals and honestly there are clear fabrications. I was treated terribly by Regent Square Rentals Management Staff. I have never called to "complain" to staff about denial, I actually called the first time after my denial a few days later to see if there was anything that could be done, if they would work with us because we LOVED the place we saw. The reason why I called on the 24th of February was in response to their absolutely disgusting response to my review I left. It discussed my personal business that did not need to be displayed for the public to see. There were clear falsehoods in the response and I called to have them take it down, and discuss what occurred. I have attached my original review, and their clearly inappropriate response below. Here are the falsehoods that were included:

    I have NEVER screamed expletives or called anyone names from this business. That is a complete lie. I spoke to a man, who I believe was ***, after reading other reviews from people, he exhibits very similar behaviors. I called him to ask about other options, and was going to tell him that the lien would have been potentially removed at that point because I paid it off within days of learning about this due to the background check. Before I could even begin to say something to him about the paid lien, he yelled at me and hung up the phone. He did not call me names, he hung up. I did NOT call him any names, I did not scream, I do not exhibit such behavior. I spoke to a young woman who I believe is writing on behalf of this company and who wrote the review because she loves to write out specifics of what I said in the conversation with her. When we spoke, no explatives were shared, it was actually an okay conversation... even though she was rude, pried, and chuckled at my situation. That is absolutely inappropriate, but one thing I do not do, is lie. She did not curse at me, scream, at me, nothing... This is where I am confused and disappointed with this lie.

    Even in the response of the review I wrote that part NEVER came up.... therefore.. it is completely untrue. Anyone who knows me, knows that I am a very docile and teamwork focused person. I was merely calling to get some answers and work with them. They just didn't want to work with me. I work in **************** and I was a Success Coach in Upstate ******** right out of ************ I worked with the **** program (please look it up.) to have students do my taxes for me for free. It did not go well, I learned that the taxes were done incorrectly, and I was disputing it with *************. I believed it was resolved and moved to **********... and here we are. I explained EXACTLY that to this young woman and she believed that it was appropriate to write specific inflammatory and incorrect details in the response to the review. The response to the review was so disgusting. They called me a liar, they were disrespectful to me, and they were unprofessional. 

    One thing this woman didn't know is that I viewed MULTIPLE properties in person with a leasing agent and that is where I saw the *****. I actually could have discussed the disgusting and dirty stove at *************************** but I didn't. 

    As soon as I tried to respond on the 24th, they picked up and hung up the phone to try to "prove" harassment. Then they threatened me with legal action after they continuously disrespected me. When I called on the 24th of February, someone answered the phone and hung up.... Pick up, hang up, pick up, breathe, hang up, pick up, breathe, listen to me say hello, laugh, and hang up. I was looking for a businesslike  response, unfortunately this company does not do that. Once they are done with you, they're done. They do not want to work with you, they treat you poorly, and then make you look crazy. On the 24th, I tried another number that was associated with that company and it was the same guy (***) again. I said "Oh so you said that I called you a dumb ass?" He started to stutter and say "I don't know what you're talking about" Then he hung up. I need this on record that I am a black woman and I feel like this behavior was clearly discrimination. As soon as my fianc and I sent our ID's in for processing, their attitude towards me flipped. I was then treated with disrespect and now they would like to lie about my actions towards them. I am a very educated woman who cares about everyone and everything and for this lie to be put out there has absolutely degraded my mental health. I did not deserve this behavior from them, and the constant lies is not appropriate. 

    I took the review down because I am an influential person where I work, I do not want this to harm my reputation, as this situation has garnered nothing but turmoil for my mental health and well being. The response was so appalling and divulged far too much information about my personal struggles that it was not worth me keeping it up. I will NEVER contact these people again. I have already discussed this situation with the office of Commuter Affairs at my institution and Regent Square Rentals will not be getting any business from our Commuter students. I will also be discussing this with our VP of Student Life as well, this behavior will not stand, and students at will not face the absolute disrespect and prejudice that I experienced in my time dealing with Regent Square Rentals. 

    I would like to receive my application fees back for this awful experience. That is truly what I would like at this point.

    We believe this matter has been settled, and no further discussion is necessary. Her initial complaint contained inaccuracies regarding the exchange of funds, and her review prompted our response, which is within our rights. We do not wish to prolong this dispute. ******** ********** claims of bias and discrimination lack foundation, as she applied for an apartment but was not approved due to a known tax lien, and a refund was issued to her, as in line with our policies and procedures.  We thank everyone for their time and wish the best to all involved.
