On December 21, 2024, my family went to The Rink at PPG place for an afternoon of *********** on the city. This is to report extremely unprofessional and unacceptable behavior from a rink employee. The rink was very crowded. Both my children have experience skating and own their skates. After they were done skating, I took both my kids inside the pro shop to help them remove their skates. Since it was very crowded my husband was outside. I asked my son to leave the building momentarily to tell my husband that he and his sister were done skating for the afternoon while I was taking off his sisters skates. Once he had delivered the message, he tried to come back to me so I could finish removing his skates. The day was very crowded for skating and while he was letting his dad know, a line had formed to enter the building. When he tried to return into the building and employee proceed to raise his voice and scream in an extremely inappropriate manner at my son.He directed my son to proceed to the end of the line due to the crowded conditions. My son tried to let him know that his mom was just inside. And the employee raised his voice again and yelled at my child. I find the behavior unacceptable. There is no reason anyone should ever raise their voice like that towards anyone. Especially a young child. This employee is clearly not the correct person for the role because he was unable to maintain composure and escalated the situation. The employee directed my now unaccompanied child to the end of line where I could no longer see him from where I was inside the building. This is very unsafe. I found my son outside against the building crying and was afraid to get close to the building. I had to remove his skates against the building on a sidewalk in the city in a very hectic environment that was not intended for skate removal. What should have been a fun family afternoon ended with tears in frustration due to complete inappropriate employee behavior.
