  I hired Battaglia Construction to replace my cement front porch and railing back in March, 2024. The cement work was completed but the railing was never installed, as agreed upon. I paid for the railing, that check was cashed by the Company, but the owner has never come back to install the railing, after months of waiting and numerous attempts to contact him. Please see attached PDF for more specific details.

  In March, 2024 I hired Battaglia Construction (John M******, owner) to replace my cement front porch and railing.  I was given a quote with a description of the work and the pricing (see attached).  The cement work was completed but the railing was never installed, even though I paid the owner the full amount, which included the price of the railing.  The owner cashed the last check on 4/17/2024 (this check was for the railing), but never returned to install the railing.

  
  At first I thought the concrete had to set or ‘cure’ before he could install the railing so I didn’t think much of his absence.  After several months of waiting to hear back from him I tried to contact him numerous times, both by email (7/2/2024) and by phone (6/24/2024, 7/2/2024, 8/13/2024, 9/10/2024, and 9/24/2024) but have never had any success in reaching or talking with him.  The owner was always very quick in cashing my checks, depositing them either the same day or the next day after I gave them to him.  I wish he was as conscientious in completing the work he agreed to do.
  
  I recently did an online search for the company and found that it has had a history of not finishing jobs.  A Google Search shows that there were several similar complaints on the old Angie’s List website which occurred ten years ago.  Apparently this isn’t the first time that this company has done this kind of thing.
  
  I am recovering from back surgery (the owner knew this) and I need the railing for safety purposes.  Now when I go out the front door and down the front steps I hold onto the house for stability, when I should be holding onto the railing.  I am a senior citizen who lives alone.  I feel that I have been taken advantage of.
