  Here's a detailed review based on your experience:---I purchased an air conditioner listed as an 8000 BTU, new in box ** unit with a remote from **** ***** on ******** Marketplace. The box appeared new, with tape and plastic straps. When I was unloading it from my truck, one of the plastic straps slid off, but I didn't think much of it at the time. However, when we opened the box, we found a used GE air conditioner instead. There was no remote, it was ***** and dirty, and one of the side window panels was cracked. Upon closer inspection of the box, we noticed tape over the original tape, suggesting it had been opened before.I immediately tried to contact **** *****, calling him seven times without an answer. I also sent him a text message and a message through Marketplace. I tried calling him twice more the next day and still got no response. Finally, on the third day, he answered. When I explained the situation, he began yelling at me, calling me a liar and accusing me of making the whole thing up. He claimed that he got the unit new from his supplier, and when I suggested he check with them, he refused and continued to insist I was at fault.All I wanted was for him to do the right thing, but instead, he continued to deny any wrongdoing. If you plan to buy anything from **** *****, I strongly recommend opening everything on the spot to ensure youre getting what you paid for. I trusted that the box's appearance meant it was new, and I learned the hard way that appearances can be deceiving. I hope this review helps others avoid the same mistake. Ill take the loss and the ****** learned, but I wish I could say there are still honest and good people out theresadly, my experience says otherwise.He deserves no stars.
