Bills emergency roadside towed 2 vehicles and a tow dolly per instructions from the reading police ***** When Bills emergency roadside was contacted for a price to release the 3 pieces we were told $1450 or $650. For my van and $800 for the truck and tow dolly for a total o$1450 dollars. The next day the tow company charged $1800 to release the vehicles. The tow vehicle and the tow dolly were picked up and when I went to get the van hours later, I was told I have to pay an additional $650 by the manager that Identified himself as dom. I asked to speak to the owner and was told that's his brother and he won't do anything so I can't talk to him. He went on to say that I can call whoever I want to including the police and no one can make him do anything it's his place to charge what he wants. I asked how much is a normal tow and he said it doesn't matter and "If I keep asking questions my price is going up plus it's $50 a day for every day it's there and would I want him to make that $75 a day? This company has the contracts tow for the city and use strong arm bullying tequeniques to force you to pay highly inflated and unreasonable prices that they make up on the spot. Their practices are extortion and exploitation of struggling people in their hours of weakness. I have not been able to make it to work since the day after the vehicles were towed. I don't know how they keep their contract with the city when the city is supposed to protect and serve and the this company is allowed to charge you what they want or they get to keep my vehicle. I was told it would be listed as abandoned and I could not get a license plate in my name if I don't sign the title over the them.

these vehicles were actually impounded for drugs the dump truck and tow dolly belonged to one person the van which is what the complaint is about is tstill in our impound lot and acrues storage charges daily. The owner of this van hired the dump truck owner to tow the van . we had 2 tow bills to tow the van one to tow to exeter township police for impound and then a tow bill to remove the inopperable van from the dolly and tow to our impound lot. The the price to tow the dump truck and dolly to the police station increased once we had to go tow it from the police station to our yard. the total bill for the loaded dumptruck and the dolly was ******* we collected ******* and released the dump truck and dolly.the total for the van was ****** plus ***** a day storage due to having to lift the van off of a dolly it should not have been towed on.the total as of 04/15/2024 is  now ******* and it will go up every day. we talked to the owner of the van on 04/10/2024 and told him to bring ****** and he could take his van if not it would be filed as an abandoned vehicle. the van has 0.00$  value. at this point this offer is retracted due to his slanderouse remaks on ****** reviews .We are just doing our job, If anyone is at fault here I would say it is the company he hired to tow his van illegaly and who caused all the trouble for him to begin with . I dont see how a ****** tow for his van would be put in for an ******* judgement.I feel he should go after the company that was transporting illegal substances for his money that he didnt even spend yet.WE will give him till 04/20/2024 to pay ****** for the tow we will not charge him any storage or fees other then the ****** if he picks up said van by 04/20/2024 and if he stops slandering BILLS EMERGENCY ROADSIDE SERVICE LLC for a situation that we did not get him into.

I am rejecting this response because:

First, I apologize for my misunderstanding. The $1800. Was the price charged by the company for the release of all 3 units. After the vehicles were paid for, the van and tow dolly were picked up with the understanding that the van would be picked up later.

Not the same day I inquired with bills emergency towing as to their location so I could retrieve my vehicle. I was instructed to make sure I brought proof of ownership and $800. I assuwehicle as n of cost per vred the manager Dom that it had been paid for and he said no that only the 2 vehicles were paid for. We had just discussed the evening before that the breakdown of cost per vehicle as well as the total cost of all 3 pieces to be released. That's figure was $1450 for the truck, the tow dolly and my van. Or $650 for the van, $750 for van and tow dolly or $1450. For the tow vehicle as well

The next day the bill was paid to the Amount of almost $1800. with the understanding that the third unit was paid in full as well

*** is extorting client through bullying tactics and exploiting innocent victims while all the while holding the city and county contracts to tow for all municipalities and have no billing standard or uniformed pricing guide.  I'm not seeking any monetary payment even though I Am currently unemployed because of my inability to make it to work. I was bullied, I was disrespected, I was threatened and  I Am humiliated. *** went as far as to belittle the value of my vehicle in his effort to secure the title so he could own it.

      Regards,

On August 22 or 23, 2022, our van stopped and would not start, we called *** to get a tow. Bill's Emergency Roadside Assistance (740 Lancaster Avenue, Reading, Pa) was dispatched. Somehow the driver convinced us to take the car to his "so-called" garage because the second battery needed replacing immediately or the engine could explode. After they replaced that, they claimed the starter was the problem, because the van still wouldn't start, after changing the battery. Then they replaced the starter. The van still won't start. They insisted that we pay full price for all of the unnecessary and not helpful repairs. They didn't even offer a discount of any kind, even though they didn't fix the car AT ALL. My husband told them to stop doing any work on the car we were going to have a tow truck take it to another garage. My husband had to walk there and wait until the tow truck came and the entire time they were rude and nasty to him saying things like "if they're not here soon we're going to start charging you for storage they charged $850. We later found that the engine had seized and any reputable mechanic would have determined that BEFORE starting any repairs. The entire engine needed replacement and the stuff they did helped nothing and would help nothing. And they knew it. When I complained to them, they TOLD me the engine was seized. They were rude and crass and called me "snowflake." They knew my husband and I had no experience with cars and cheated us

I am rejecting this response because: the business states that they refuse to refund anything because they "did the requested work." We didn't request any work, THEY told us what needed done. They are the experts. We agreed to have the work done because THEY told us it would fix the car. A mechanic should examine the vehicle, determine what is wrong with the vehicle, and then fix what is wrong with the vehicle: that is what mechanics do. This is like a doctor stating that it is totally acceptable for him to have treated the wrong illness, because the patient told them a symptom and they didn't examine the patient to determine what illness they have, they just treated an illness that has that symptom. No one in their right mind would accept that answer from a doctor. Mechanics are professionals also.  I want some (I am genuinely not even requesting all of the money) money returned. The car was NOT drivable. The engine was seized. Every single mechanic that I have spoken to states that they would have checked for engine seizure, prior to replacing anything on the car.

I do not understand why this business continue to claim that I didn't own the vehicle. My husband was driving it that day and he dealt with them, because I was at work and he was not.  As for *** "investigating," they never even talked to us, after our initial complaint.

My car was damaged during a tow. The company offered to pick up my car from the mechanic that it was at for a separate issue to fix the damage, but my mechanic already started fixing the problem so the towing company couldnt pick up the car. The towing company said if I retrieved the broken piece that was damaged during the tow they would pay for that piece. When I brought the broken piece to the company, the employee denied breaking the piece even though it was confirmed, and they refused to pay. They were extremely rude over the phone and cursed. My car is completely fixed and I am only seeking the compensation for the broken piece that they promised in the first place.

The above complaimt was investigated by the head road service tech at *** and was determined that said damage eas not caused by towing .The damage to the oil pan was from bpttoming out going in and out of droveways. This is a common issue on ** ******* due to location of oil pan.The car was towed on a wheelift which picks the car up by the tires and in no way gets near the oil pan.Alsp there was mo oil leakage onto the crossbar of wheelift or at dropoff point. We are a reputible *** service provider and *** repair facility. If we or *** Reading Berks would have found our driver at fault we would have paid for it.Unfortanetly with our 33 years experience and ** ****** of *** s 38 years experience our conclusion is there is no way the damage was from towing. Also at no time did anyone use vulgar language other then the complaintent. They even cursed out *** .You may call myself at****** ********** or ** ****** at * * * at

       Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:There were three people talking to the company about this incident, me, a person who also drives the car, and my father. When the person who drives the car called, they answered with Is this the son of a ***** who called earlier? (This was probably in reference to my father who called earlier about the car.) I have video proof of the leakage that came from the car after it was towed to the mechanic. It did not have a leak or have a piece break off, which we were asked to retrieve from the street for proof, until it was dropped off at the mechanic. We were told to bring the broken piece and the oil pan in for proof of damage so that the company could pay for the damage they caused. *** when called, confirmed the damage and told us about the offer the towing company had made to fix the car without payment, since they damaged it, but we denied the offer since they damaged it and our mechanic had already started fixing the problem.
