I purchased 2 ODX-AGM65 batteries online through Odyssey batteries February 13 2024. I was gone the first part of this year for work. When I returned in early March 25 my truck would not start. So I tried charging the batteries and they would not take a charge. I have filled out their contact sheet online multiple times with now reply about warrantying the batteries. I have also called the phone number or their web site and left voice mails with no replies. I sent one last contact sheet last Thursday or Friday with no reply stating I will file a complaint with BBB if I did not hear from them. I have also contacted local stores that are authorized dealers for Odyssey batteries and since I did not purchase directly from the local businesses they would not warranty the batteries. All I am asking for is to warranty their product or refund my money.

      Resolution of ************************* Claim
Upon further review, we have identified several issues that impacted Mr. ************ warranty claim and his attempts to contact our team.
Mr. *********** submitted six (6) inquiries through our website. Unfortunately, five (5) of these were mistakenly categorized as Requests for Quotation and routed to our Sales team rather than Technical Support. The sixth submission, received on May 1, 2025, was correctly directed to our Technical Support team, which resulted in direct communication with Mr. ******************** evaluation, the product in question was found to be overdischarged and therefore not eligible for warranty coverage, as outlined in our published warranty terms. Nonetheless, we provided Mr. *********** with guidance on how to potentially recover the product using the appropriate charging method.
Mr. *********** also reported unsuccessful attempts to reach our Technical Support team via our toll-free number. Upon investigation, we discovered that the toll-free number was experiencing technical difficulties at the time, which have since been resolved.
Resolution: In recognition of the inconvenience caused by these issues and the resulting delay in our response, we are offering Mr. *********** free replacement products. We are currently in direct communication with him to ensure this resolution is completed to his satisfaction.

I ordered a new battery from Odyssey Battery / EnerSys's webstore on or around 2/24/2021, order number 9968. The battery came with a 4-year warranty for my specific model and ****** January 2025 the vehicle was difficult to start, a few days later the battery was no longer able to start the vehicle. I swapped in another battery, and had no issues starting the vehicle. I had the battery professionally tested on 1/18/2025 at my local auto parts store (as required under EnerSys's warranty terms) and it failed. I initiated a warranty claim via their online portal on or around 1/18/2025, and never received a confirmation email. Suspecting an online glitch, I initiated a new warranty claim on 1/24/2025, and received a warranty request confirmation, attached. From 1/24 to 2/24/2025 I have left a few voice mails for EnerSys on their warranty phone line asking for status of my warranty claim, with no reply.I'm initiating this BBB request for a resolution/replacement/refund under warranty. For a reputable business to sell a quality product and not stand behind it is unfortunate. Additionally, a battery is an important commodity, in order to continue to use my vehicle I was forced to go buy another battery, which makes this warranty ineffective. I'm also very disappointed in EnerSys's lack of modern customer service tools/timely communication. In this day an age, there is no excuse to let a customer go ******* without an update. This is compounded by a lack of email access to their warranty personnel (all their warranty emails come from 'no-reply' accounts) and inability to get a real person on the phone. Structurally, EnerSys has made it very hard for the typical consumer to pursue warranty remedies.

Mr. **** was contacted directly on 3/4/25 via a phone call.   In summary, there was some confusion on multiple fronts:

      1. The product Mr. **** reported on this claim does not carry a 4 year warranty but only 3 years.  The product warranty policy clearly states this period as 3 years.   Mr. **** submitted a claim for a battery that was out of warranty.

      2. When Mr. **** submitted his initial claim via our system, he entered an invalid email address for himself.  This in turn, did not allow our response to his claim to be received by him.  In addition, our system creates a contact profile with the information he initially provided which is linked to the serial number of the product he submitted on the claim.   Any future claims he submits with this serial number, will default to the original contact information provided  - thus the subsequent claim he submitted, defaulted to the erroneous email address he provided.

      3. Mr. **** stated he left numerous voice mails relative to his claim using the contact number we provide with our warranty policy and website.   An audit of our messaging system logs and voicemail does not show any incoming calls from his number or voicemails.   When speaking with him on 3/4/25, we also cross checked another phone number he could have called from with no results found in our system.

At the conclusion of the call with Mr. **** on 3/4/25, he understood his battery is not warrantable and acknowledged his errors: submitting a claim for a battery out of the warranty period and providing an incomplete email address.   Therefore, this case / complaint should be closed.
