    On 12/29/22 brought two ***** **** watches in to have battery replaced. I already removed the back from one of the watches prior to arrival (the one in question) to check the battery size. Both sales clerks stated they’ve never replaced a ring watch battery but assured us that they could do it. They were having some trouble, went to the back of the store behind a closed door and returned roughly 25 minutes later with the watches. Within a week, the winder broke in one watch, which was replaced; and the backing fell off the other watch and I’d now lost.

    To whom it may concern: 

    On December 28, 2022, the customer came into our store with 2 **** watches. The **** watch mentioned in the complaint the back was already taken off by the customer before they brought it into the store. If he took the back off to check the battery size as he says, he was obviously going to replace the battery himself. After we replaced the battery, the back would not go on tightly it was loose. Hence the reason it was probably off in the first place. The customer was told this when she picked up her watches that the back would not go on tightly and she acknowledged being told this to me and also to our customer service department in our corporate office upon her first complaint. 

    As far as they are saying both sales clerks said they never replaced a **** watch battery before - the batteries were replaced. And the tech in the back has replaced **** watch batteries before. That's not the question. 

    I replaced one **** watch in good faith for her. We did not take the back off, he did, and they were told and acknowledged the back would not go on tightly hence I am not replacing this **** watch for them. Maybe when they knew the back would not go on tightly as they are the ones who took it off, they should have been responsible themselves and taken it to a jeweler instead of blaming us for it. 

    Please note, in the complaint they mention going to the back of the store behind closed doors - we do this because the tech has a high-powered magnifier and light as opposed to the one at the front of the store. And that has nothing to do with anything. We do this all the time.
