As a senior traveler , this was the worst trip I've ever had. To start the bus was to pick us up at 6:30 am and finally arrived at 11:30 am. One story he told us was the bus wouldn't start and he had to call someone (this was a Sunday morning). The next person he told he was coming from **** that morning ( our pickup was ******** ********). Our hotels were dirty. Toilets wouldn't shut off, refrigerators ran all night, no lights in the room except for the bathrooms, gnats flying every where, rugs not vacuumed, stains on the sheets, etc, etc. I could go on but you get the idea. Those in charge of offering these tours (White Star) should send a representative to check places before they book them. The prices we pay for these tours, we should be given better accommodations.

Did a tour with White Star to *************** this past June. I have never been so disappointed with a tour in my entire life. The accommodations were horrible including overflowing toilets, mice in rooms, telephones not working, trash pilled up behind the hotel. The last hotel we stayed at gave room keys to people that already had people in them, rooms that reeked of cigarette smoke, some people waited 2+hours for a room. We had to go two blocks down for a horrible breakfast of rubber pancakes, ham in water, something resembling eggs that you needed a spoon to eat. One dinner everyone either got cold or burnt lasagna and when you sent it back you got the opposite, not fit to feed pigs. We had one great meal at ************** which was ruined by the manager confusing us with another group for being early, called the tour company who in turn called me and read me the riot act about following our itinerary. When they found out it was a mistake they never even called to apologize. I have done tours with this company for 14+ years and feel its time to move on. I took the time to do a 3 page review of everything that was wrong and their response was they were no aware of the hotel being in the middle of a remodel and they were sorry about it. I feel they did everything the cheapest possible way. I just seen another group on this same trip with them in a beautiful hotel which makes me very unhappy. You might want to check with other tour companies because sorry just doesnt do it for people who have spent their hard earned money on a trip.

We just returned from an 11 day trip to and from ********. It was a White Star tour done thru ***'s Tours out of **********. It was fabulous! It was very organized and timely and we had the opportunity to see so many incredible places. Our bus driver, *******, couldn't have been any better in any way! She's an absolute gem. The organization of this tour was excellent and *** and his wife did a stupendous job as the tour directors. We would definitely use them again. Thank you to all!!!

Do not take a White Star tour!!! We went on a tour booked by a NJ senior center and had expectations for a quality tour. Our tour planner did try her best but, we spent most of the time on the bus, as the tour stops and times were not well planned by White Star. Although our bus driver was nice, this was his first tour and was not well informed by the company. He had trouble getting to allowable parking places, which wasted a lot of time. I believe the company had a significant driver turnover, probably most going to a better company. A couple of the dinner and lunch stops were poorly planned and couldn't accommodate us or were closed. Stops and parking took much longer than anticipated and severely took time away from the destinations, time to eat, sightsee or shop.
The hotels were extremely under par and far from the cities of Charleston and Savannah scheduled on the tour. If someone asks me if I've visited Charleston or Savannah, I would honestly have to say NO.
The first stop in Wilson North Carolina which was A Comfort In on I95, had nowhere nearby open to have dinner but jersey mikes. The motel has ROACHES! STAYED UP ALL NIGHT WITH THE LIGHTS ON ! Several other tour travelers also complained of roaches. I suspect the hotel was infested. The restaurants ranged from passable to disgusting, particularly the Golden Corral nearby. No inspection. Each were at least 20-30 minutes out of town on the highway.
White Star choose the cheapest accommodations and restaurants. The tours included were nothing more than a guide from the visitor center joining the bus and speaking for two hours while we strained our necks to get a bottom view of an historic building. We were late for everything, which caused us to rush around the Old Market IN CHARLESTON and grabbing a take out to eat on the bus! Savannah was more of the same and the hotel Country in At Savannah airport was filthy were told it was being renovated soon. We opted to pay $179 to sleep at a nearby hotel.

We left the bus and walked around the River walk on our own. The people that stayed on the bus, had an awful speaker and were dropped at the River walk at the far end and had about 1 hour to eat and explore. The worst Hotel was the Country INN and Suites outside of town off I95. It was filthy. Stained rugs, mold, dirty and worn furniture throughout. The desk informed us that the site was being renovated by a new owner. It should be closed to guest until renovated. The Local Health Dept. should be not
